(Headline USA) Law enforcement revealed they discovered multiple articles of clothing belonging to a Tanzanian designer in Sam Brinton’s home after executing a search warrant on the disgraced former Biden energy official’s property.
Brinton—who worked as deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy before being charged with multiple counts of theft for stealing women’s luggage—was accused of stealing the Texas-based designer’s suitcase from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport several years ago.
Asya Khamsin said she saw pictures of Brinton wearing her designs that had been packed in the luggage.
“I saw the images. Those were my custom designs, which were lost in that bag in 2018,” Khamsin said. “He wore my clothes, which was stolen.”
After Khamsin filed a report, officers of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police department executed a search warrant on Brinton’s home in May.
MWAA officials confirmed Tuesday that police found Khamsin’s belongings in Brinton’s home and that they had been returned to her.
“The MWAA returned to [Khamsin] various parcels of retrieved clothing after the search warrant was executed,” an attorney for Khamsin said. “These items were returned in sealed evidence bags.”
After the search on Brinton’s Maryland home, Brinton was charged with felony grand larceny of items worth more than $1,000.
Brinton was also arrested as a “fugitive from justice” around the time as the search.
“Four unmarked police showed up last night, they would not let his spouse Kevin leave,” said a person who claimed to be Brinton’s neighbor at the time of the arrest. “After about an hour Sam Brinton was escorted out in handcuffs.”
Brinton has also been charged with misdemeanor theft after stealing $3,670 worth of items in a woman’s suitcase from the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, and $2,325 worth of items from luggage in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.
Khamsin has also filed a civil suit against Brinton.
