The mother of Ashli Babbitt, the U.S. Air Force veteran who was fatally shot during the Jan. 6 Capitol siege, said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has ignored her requests for answers regarding her daughter’s death — just like Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.
Micki Witthoeft, a California resident, said she has approached several Democrat officials, including two of her own congresswomen, about what happened during the Capitol riot.
However, when she reached out to Feinstein’s office, she was told the senator didn’t have time for her.
“Ma’am, I am sorry for your unfortunate situation but if your daughter hadn’t stormed the Capitol, she wouldn’t have been shot,” Witthoeft recalls the staffer telling her, according to American Greatness. “Dianne Feinstein will never have two minutes for you.”
Pelosi’s office hasn’t bothered to respond to her requests, Witthoeft said.
“Nancy Pelosi I have called no less than a dozen times. I have never received any kind of correspondence from her. She will not call me back. I’ve emailed her, she doesn’t email me back. .. I’ve had absolutely no response,” she told conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza during a podcast interview.
Even the California Republicans she has reached out to have ignored her, she added.
U.S. Rep. Scott Peters, San Diego councilman Carl DeMaio, and San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob — all of whom are Republicans — have not responded, she claimed.
Witthoeft said she plans to to file a lawsuit on Babbitt’s behalf to find out why Babbitt was actually shot and who shot her, since no one in the federal government will give her answers. (Conservative media outlets, including RealClear Investigations, have identified the killer as Capitol Police Lt. Mike Byrd).
“When people say that our government is for the people, by the people – unless you’re trying to get in, and then nobody’s opening these doors,” she said. “And that’s gotta change because that’s such an un-American way to do things.”
