CDC’s Mask Guidance Called Into Question Once Again

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned people that cloth face masks will not protect wearers from wildfire smoke, prompting questions about its face mask guidance in regards to the coronavirus.

“Cloth masks that are used to slow the spread of COVID-19 by blocking respiratory droplets offer little protection against wildfire smoke,” the CDC wrote on its website this week in response to several major wildfires breaking out on the West Coast.

“They do not catch small, harmful particles in smoke that can harm your health,” it said.

As former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson pointed out, smoke particles are larger than COVID-19 particles—which raises the question: Do face masks even work?

The CDC has changed its guidance on face masks several times.

At the start of the pandemic, the agency actually discouraged Americans from wearing face coverings, arguing that only those

In April, however, the CDC flip-flopped and urged Americans to wear face coverings while in public spaces.

As a result, many businesses now mandate face masks, and presidential candidate Joe Biden has even suggested that he would implement a national mask mandate if elected.

Gavin Newsom Signs Law Loosening Sex-Offender Penalties for LGBT Pedophiles

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law a controversial new bill that loosens penalties and requirements for individuals added to the state’s sex offender registry.

Newsom signed the bill, passed last week by the Democratic-controlled state legislature, without comment on Friday.

Under the new law, judges can decide not to place a man on the sex offender registry if he had sexual intercourse with someone 14 to 17 years old and was not more than 10 years older than the other person.

A similar exception existed before, but only applied to heterosexual intercourse, which was discriminatory against gay men, according to the bill’s proponents.

“This eliminates discrimination against LGBTQ youth in our criminal justice system,” the bill’s sponsor, San Francisco Democratic state Rep. Scott Wiener, said in a statement.

Critics of the law pointed out that sex between a teenager and someone 10 years older is never consensual, and should always warrant being placed on the sex offender registry.

“I cannot in my mind as a mother understand how sex between a 24-year-old and a 14-year-old could ever be consensual, how it could ever not be a registrable offense,” Democratic Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez said when the bill was being debated in the legislature.

“We should never give up on this idea that children should be in no way subject to a predator,” she said.

Many Californians on both sides of the aisle blasted Newsom for condoning behavior that anyone would consider “predatory.”

“An adult who commits ANY sex act on a minor 10 years younger must be registered a sex offender. Law must be changed,” said San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer.

Memo: Burisma Bribed Ukraine’s Top Prosecutor Shortly after Hunter Biden Joined Board

0

Conservative investigative journalist John Solomon used shoe-leather journalism to uproot a serious ethical crisis involving Hunter Biden and the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

Biden’s conflicts of interests during his five years on the company’s board—receiving an annual consulting fee of a million dollars—became central to House Democrats’ efforts to impeach President Donald Trump last year.

Trump had called on the Ukrainian president to reopen an investigation into the case that Joe Biden, Hunter’s father, had coerced the previous president into abandoning after threatening to withhold a billion-dollar loan if the investigating prosecutor weren’t fired.

Throughout the impeachment charade, lazy and dishonest journalists in the mainstream media insisted on repeating a Democrat talking point that there was “no evidence” of misconduct on the part of Burisma or the Bidens.

But writing for Just the News, Solomon revealed Sunday that the State Department raised concerns about Burisma having bribed local officials in a January 2015 memo—eight months after Hunter Biden began his tenure there.

“The anecdote, buried in five-year-old diplomatic files, provides a fresh illustration of the awkward, uncomfortable conflict of interest State officials perceived as they tried to fight pervasive corruption in Ukraine under Joe Biden’s leadership while the vice president’s son collected large payments as a board member for an energy firm widely viewed as corrupt,” Solomon wrote.

The $7 million bribe to local prosecutors—including then Prosecutor General Vitaly Yarema—occurred immediately after Hunter began his “consulting work in April 2014.

It was paid between May and December 2014, and Yarema subsequently took actions to undercut the two major corruption investigations against Burisma.

George Kent—then a newly dispatched diplomatic attache in Kiev, who would go on to testify against Trump—was said to have met with Yarema’s deputy and sternly rebuked him.

A week later, Yarema was out and was replaced by Viktor Shokin, whose tenure would last a year before Biden pressured Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko to can him for proceeding with the investigation.

Perhaps conflating the two top prosecutors during a 2017 discussion, Biden later boasted of his role in firing the corrupt one.

Despite Kent’s request to have Yarema’s bribery referred for investigation to the FBI, he—like the Bidens—seems to have ducked accountability for the most part.

That prompted Kent to write a blistering letter to top officials, including then-Ambassador William Taylor.

“When I met with Yarema’s right hand man … I asked him bluntly how much was the bribe and who took it,” Kent said. “Danylenko cheerfully replied: ‘That’s exactly what President Poroshenko asked us last month. ‘”

However, Solomon notes that the memo from Kent makes no mention of Hunter Biden. But weeks before the allegations surfaced, in November 2014, Yarema tried to arrange a meeting with Joe Biden.

Although the meeting never happened,  Yarema might have been able to extort additional money or favors from the US administration by implicating Hunter in the corruption probe.

Dems Embrace Dark Money and Mega-Donors, but Trump Outpaces in Small $$ Donations

In a bygone era when the wealthiest political donors were major industries that stood to gain from free-market deregulation, Democrats long railed against the evils of unfettered campaign finance—and, in particular, questionably sourced “dark money.”

But after a small, scrappy conservative production company shook the foundations of campaign-finance in the Supreme Court’s landmark Citizens United case during the Obama era, the Left quickly pivoted to openly embracing big-money donors.

Now, it seems, the tables have completely turned. An NBC news piece reported that leftist dark money groups outspent conservative ones for the first time in 2018, and the trend is continuing to grow.

“Their mantra of not ‘unilaterally disarming’ was really their justification for learning how to master super PACs and dark money and all that,” said left-wing lobbyist Craig Holman of the radical anti-corporate activist group Public Citizen. “And they’re doing a better job of it right now than the Republicans.”

Some, like failed presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, have operated largely in plain sight. After receiving a plum speaking spot at the recent Democratic National Convention, Bloomberg announced this week that he planned to spend $100 million for Biden in Florida alone. That amounts to nearly $5 per citizen.

Other Democrat mega-donors, like George Soros, use a network of shell companies and nonprofit entities to effectively launder political donations toward more nefarious causes. Soros also was involved in Florida operations, including a recent ballot initiative that would restore voting rights to felons, provided they pay all applicable fines and costs.

But it is impossible to know the true scope of their subversive activities in a year when alarms over massive voting fraud are at peak level.

Left-wing activist groups also have mastered the art of concealing supporters’ identities using crowdsourced aggregator sites like Act Blue, which exploit loopholes in the finance laws to make funding sources untraceable.

The watchdog group Take Back Action Fund conducted a computer data analysis that showed nearly half of all 2019 donations to ActBlue were made by people claiming to be unemployed, Fox News reported.

“The name of employers must be disclosed when making political donations, but more than 4.7 million donations came from people who claimed they did not have an employer,” said Action Fund President John Pudner.

All in all, that came out to $346 million supporting leftist activism from people without an identifiable source of income.

“It is hard to believe that at a time when the U.S. unemployment rate was less than 4%, that unemployed people had $346 million dollars to send to ActBlue for liberal causes,” Pudner said.

That number promised to be even higher for 2020, Pudner said, with preliminary data indicating that 50.1% of ActBlue donations were from the jobless.

ActBlue dismissed the statistics, claiming many of their donations were from retirees, homemakers and others not considered typical workers.

But Purdner warned that it was more likely the untraceable donations were coming from illegal sources, such as foreign donations.

“ActBlue’s insistence on refusing to allow banks to verify their donations is an invitation to foreign programmers or others to send money through them using fake American names, and we encourage them to start letting banks verify the identity of donors to stop the potential for millions of dollars to influence our election,” Pudner said.

But curiously enough, while Democrats appeared to be winning the contest for organizing super-PACs to supply their funding pipelines, recent fundraising data from the Center for Responsive Politics revealed that it was the Trump campaign benefiting from greater small-dollar donations,

The nonpartisan group, which runs the site OpenSecrets.org, indicated that Trump’s donations of $200 or less outpaced those of his opponent, $229.5 million to Biden’s $139 million in the most recent cycle.

Although it may be a stretch to draw too many conclusions about what that signals, Just the News noted that more small donations could signal more engaged voters based on a 2017 study by Pew Research that correlated the two groups.

Meanwhile, Biden edged out Trump $187 million to $183 million in the big-money donations, presumably before Bloomberg announced his most recent cash dump.

At the very least, the Left’s coziness with the mega-rich puts many of its leaders, including Biden, at odds with their own message.

Ironically, at the DNC convention last month, the party adopted a platform calling for a ban on all dark money, and Biden has claimed he, too, would make it a priority.

But some are skeptical.

“If Democrats were to win the Senate and the White House, there is reason to be concerned that they may not carry through with their commitments,” Holman said. “I have no doubt that we are going to have to hold their word over their head.”

Meanwhile, many Democrats continued to justify their embrace of big-money donors by insisting it was the only way to stay competitive.

But Tim Murtaugh, the Trump campaign’s communications director, noted that the growing mega-donor trend seemed to fit a pattern that has accompanied Biden and other Democrat elitists throughout their long careers in the Swamp.

“It’s just like everything else Biden stands for,” Murtaugh said. “He believes it until it’s of political benefit to reverse himself.”

Mueller Team Wiped Phones Right After FBI Lovebirds’ Texts Were Exposed

New Justice Department records reveal that several phones belong to members of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s team were wiped of important information after former FBI agent Peter Strzok‘s and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page’s politically charged text messages surfaced.

The text exchanges between Strzok and Page raised questions about the credibility of the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia, which was something Mueller was also investigating at the time.

Strzok and Page openly bragged about “stopping” Trump from becoming president, and said disparaging things about then-candidate Trump on their government-issued phones.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz concluded that “the messages raised serious questions about the propriety of any investigative decisions in which Strzok and Page played a role.”

After those messages became public, several former Mueller team members’ phones were wiped—and it is not clear why.

Andrew Weissmann, a manager on the Mueller team, reported that two of his special counsel’s office phones were wiped—one by accident, and another by entering the wrong password too many times, according to the documents.

“Wiped phone due to attempting the incorrect password to [sic] many times, believed had less than 10 text messages, and 5 photos of non-investigative or informational significance,” read one entry for assistant special counsel Greg Andres.

Another entry for Kyle Freeny, a former prosecutor on the team, read: “Phone was accidentally wiped prior to records review.”

At least 15 other phones were similarly wiped of information before their review by the DOJ, according to the Federalist’s Sean Davis.

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said the timing was no coincidence.

“It looks like it occurred at a very interesting time; this is when the lovebirds’ text messages were discovered,” Nunes told Fox News on Sunday.

He added that the devices were wiped before Horowitz was able to review them as part of his internal investigation.

Because of this, the wiped data could be “obstruction of justice,” he argued.

“Regardless of that, this is destruction of federal records,” Nunes said. “We cannot have a justice system—whether it’s at the federal level, or the state level, or the local level—where records are being destroyed.”

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, agreed and said that the “number of times and the stated reasons for the deletion calls into question whether or not it was a widespread intentional effort” in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Bill Barr.

“It appears that Special Counsel Mueller’s team may have deleted federal records that could be key to better understanding their decision-making process as they pursued their investigation and wrote their report,” Grassley wrote.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., argued that this is further proof that Mueller’s investigation cannot be trusted.

“If you can’t manage your own phone, why should we trust you to investigate a crime?” he asked. “The question is, did they obstruct justice, did they intentionally delete information from their phone because Horowitz was on the case?”

Kamala Says November Victory Means ‘A Harris Administration, Together with Joe Biden’

Sen. Kamala Harris, the Democrat vice-presidential nominee, appeared to inadvertently confirm the suspicions of many on Saturday by referring to “a Harris administration together with Joe Biden.”

The California liberal was giving a brief virtual speech directed at Latina business owners in Arizona.

From the outset, her scripted remarks—lasting around 5 minutes total—seemed rushed and haphazard.

While squinting at a teleprompter, Harris, who has allowed race-baiting attacks over the mispronunciation of her own name, appeared to butcher the name of a Tucson restaurant specializing in Mexican cuisine and the names of its owners.

Afterward, she assured them that only she could understand them—and that if they scratched her back, she would scratch theirs with an influx of $100,000,000,000 in tax dollars earmarked specifically for minority businesses.

“As part of our Build Back Better agenda, we will need to make sure you have a president in the White House who actually sees you, who understands your needs, who understands the dignity of your work and who has your back,” she said.

“A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States—a Biden—Harris administration—will have access—provide access—to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments for minority business owners,” she continued.

Like Biden, Harris has been known to make the occasional Freudian slips, some accidentally resulting in moments of candor that dispel the official campaign/media narrative.

In this case, she hinted at who truly would be calling the shots if Democrats prevail in November.

The campaign has vigorously denied and downplayed growing concerns over Biden’s cognitive decline that could leave him unfit to perform the duties of the office in a short span of time.

Already his foot-in-mouth tendencies have kept him off the campaign trail (under the auspices of the coronavirus), prompted the Democratic duo to avoid taking media questions, and even threatened to waylay his debates with President Donald Trump.

Should Biden, who will turn 78 on Nov. 20, need to step aside as president, that would leave Harris, who has the most liberal voting record of any current U.S. senator, as his replacement.

Even without the bait-and-switch, many are alarmed, however, that Biden will act merely as a benign figurehead while radical leftists hijack the executive office and set about implementing an authoritarian regime that even the biennial election process could not correct.

The Harris–Biden ticket has hinted at democracy-ending efforts to secure permanent blue majorities for Congress by adding the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico as new states, as well as dividing California into five separate states.

They also seek to eliminate the Electoral College and declare amnesty for all illegal immigrants and their families, leading to a popular-vote system that allows them to import new Democrat voters indiscriminately.

Harris even hinted at one of the centerpieces of the Left’s plan for installing her as the new US premier—sowing chaos in the November election with illegal mail-in ballots.

Harris, herself an anchor baby born of parents who held US guest-worker visas, slyly alluded to her true target audience, telling the business people on the teleconference, “You’ve welcomed people through your doors who have long called Arizona home and those who have just only arrived.”

She later called on those watching to “take action” by voting—but this time she failed to make any distinction between the longtime residents and the (wink, wink) new arrivals who are likely noncitizens.

“We all need to make a plan to vote,” Harris said.

“We have too much at stake,” she continued. “Immigrants have too much at stake … and Joe Biden and I need your help in this fight.”

KAEPERNICK: NFL’s Social-Justice Messaging Is ‘Propaganda’ Since Friend Went Unsigned

Failed quarterback Colin Kaepernick blasted the NFL’s attempt to incorporate social justice messaging into its opening weekend as “propaganda.”

Kaepernick, who began kneeling during the national anthem and was seemingly blackballed by the league afterwards, argued that the NFL’s words and actions won’t mean anything until they allow Eric Reid, one of the top free agents on the market, to sign with a team.

Reid began kneeling with Kaepernick in 2016 when both players played for the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL has spent the past several months trying to appease Kaepernick as protests over “systemic racism” continue to take place across the U.S.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell even apologized to Kaepernick and admitted that the league failed to take action on the social-justice front.

“The first thing I’d say is I wish we had listened earlier, Kap, to what you were kneeling about and what you were trying to bring attention to,” Goodell said in a recent interview, according to Radio.com.

“We had invited him in several times to have the conversation, to have the dialogue,” Goodell continued. “I wish we had the benefit of that. We never did.”

Goodell has also asked Kaepernick to advise the NFL’s diversity council, and has urged various teams in the league to consider signing him.

“Well, listen, if he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then obviously it’s gonna take a team to make that decision,” Goodell told ESPN in June. “But I welcome that, support a club making that decision, and encourage them to do that.”

WATCH: NFL Players Stand for ‘Black National Anthem;’ Kneel for ‘Star-Spangled Banner’

On the opening Sunday for the National Football League, the majority of players on the Baltimore Ravens stood for “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” a song considered the “black national anthem,” but knelt immediately after for “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Only two players, cornerback Marlon Humphrey and linebacker Matthew Judos, knelt for both anthems, according to USA Today.

But the majority, including star quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Marquise Brown, intentionally knelt during the U.S. national anthem.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti defended the controversial move and called it a “demonstration for justice and equality for all Americans.”

“This was not a protest against our country, the military or the flag. Our players remain dedicated to uplifting their communities and making America better. They have proven this through substantive action. They are committed to using their platform to drive positive change, and we support their efforts,” he said.

Many others, however disagreed with Bisciotti’s assessment, including Outkick founder Clay Travis:

Federal Judge Rules That Pa. Governor’s Shutdown Order is UNCONSTITUTIONAL

U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV, who President Donald Trump nominated last May, ruled Monday that Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf’s unilateral limits on gathering sizes and business shutdowns are arbitrary and unconstitutional.

Stickman said the state’s orders violate the “the right of assembly enshrined in the First Amendment,” the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Stickman that Wolf’s executive orders “were undertaken with the good intention of addressing a public health emergency. But even in an emergency, the authority of government is not unfettered,” KDKA and the Associated Press reported.

Wolf had already revoked his stay-at-home order and many mandatory business closures before the ruling came down.

Yet many of his directives remain intact, as the state government continues to target restaurants, bars, and salons.

Not more than 25 Pennsylvanians can gather inside at a time and not more than 250 can gather outside at a time.

Restaurants must limit their indoor seating capacity to 25 percent.

Customers cannot drink alcohol at a restaurant unless they buy the drink with a meal.

Wolf announced that he will tolerate 50 percent capacity at restaurants on Sept. 21.

His administration has not yet announced whether they will challenge the judge’s decision.

Republican legislators and four counties filed the lawsuit against the governor and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine in May.

These counties may face punishment for their resistance.

Wolf has threatened to block coronavirus aid to counties that refuse to enforce his mandates because they are “choosing to desert in the face of the enemy,” Fox News reported.

Butler, Fayette, Greene and Washington counties, which are in southwestern Pennsylvania, joined with Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Penn., and state reps. Marcie Mustello, Daryl Metcalfe and Tim Bonner to sue Wolf and Levine.

“The liberties protected by the Constitution are not fair-weather freedoms — in place when times are good but able to be cast aside in times of trouble,” Stickman wrote.

YouTube Livestreamer Arrested After Pooping in Nancy Pelosi’s Driveway

0

EDITOR’S WARNING: Video and article contain both vulgar imagery and profanity.

A YouTube livestreamer was arrested shortly after he pooped in the driveway of the San Francisco home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The YouTube account “Lifes Mavrek” streamed the video, titled “LIVE: IRL Poopalosi,” on Saturday, and it has been viewed about 24,000 times as of Monday.

A different YouTube account, “Treeno,” posted a shorter video that shows Armando defecating outside of one of Pelosi’s homes.

After the act, Armando zoomed in on the poop and said, “Hey boys, that’s for President Trump.”

Later, Armando bikes past some restaurants and brags, “Hey everybody, I just took a s*** on Nancy Pelosi’s driveway. Why? F*** that b****. Hahaha! Look it up, it’s on YouTube.”

At another restaurant, he shouts, “America, hell yeah. F*** Pelosi, I just shit on her lawn.”

The video ends with a confrontation with the police.

“I’m investigating right now a crime, so put your phone down,” the officer said. “Take off your backpack. Don’t reach for nothing. Turn it off. Put your hands behind your back.”

“Can I know what I’m being suspected of committing?” Armando asked.

“For defecating on a public official’s property,” the officer said. “That’s what you’re being investigated for. Any more questions?”

The original video lasts about two hours as Armando walks the streets of San Francisco in search of Pelosi’s home.

Armando posted a follow-up video called, “I’m gonna need a lawyer,” where he talked about the encounter with the police.

The police have released him, the New York Post reported.

“It was scary, man,” Armando said. “They asked me about Kamala Harris, and about how I joked on the stream that if she lived in San Francisco, I’d s–t on her house too.”

“They weren’t f***ing playing.”
