Army Struggles to Feed Itself as Biden Sends Another $200M to Ukraine

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) President Joe Biden announced on Monday that he’s sending another $200 million to Ukraine, even though it was reported last week that his own U.S. Army is now struggling to feed itself.

News about the Army’s culinary woes was reported last Tuesday from military.com. It follows Biden’s admission last month that the U.S. military is running low on ammunition due to its support for Ukraine.

According to the site, one of the Army’s largest bases, Fort Cavazos, “has been barely able to keep its food services up and running for months.”

“The situation at Fort Cavazos, Texas—previously known as Fort Hood—has left some junior enlisted with few options for meals, as top officials on base struggle to juggle logistics while most of its cooks are on deployments, missions or serving field training and other events,” military.com reported.

“The base had only two of its 10 major dining options open every day for much of the summer, with three others open only during limited times. The closures forced many soldiers to drive long distances across base, sometimes an hour round trip for their meals.”

Military.com said the Army’s problem stems from a shortage of cooks. Indeed, the Army Times reported in May that officials were looking to cut the number of cooks to promote “efficiency” amidst a recruiting shortage.

“Do we need to have 60 cooks [in a unit]?” Army Secretary Christine Wormuth reportedly said in May. “Or can we use 40 cooks?”

This move towards efficiency seems to be damaging troop morale. One officer reportedly said the situation is “unmanageable.”

“For months, one [dining facility] was open and was a more than 30-minute drive for my soldiers,” one noncommissioned officer told Military.com on the condition of anonymity.

“All the soldiers were going to that one. It’s unmanageable during the workday.”

While the Army’s cook problem persists, Biden continues to focus on improving Ukraine’s army. His announcement Monday marked the forty-fourth tranche of equipment to be provided from Defense Department inventories for Ukraine since August 2021.

The weapons package includes additional air defense munitions, artillery and tank ammunition, anti-armor weapons, and other equipment to help Ukraine counter Russia.

U.S. Funneled $140M to Foreign Black Market Labs to ‘Supercharge’ Viruses

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The U.S. government has reportedly been sending millions of taxpayers’ dollars to shady laboratories in China and Russia to fund cruel and dangerous experiments on animals.

Despite the concerns that Chinese research created the COVID-19 virus and started the pandemic, more than $15 million in government grants has funded animal experiments in foreign labs from 2013 to this year, records indicated, the Daily Mail reported.

Gathering dangerous avian flu viruses from China’s wet markets and infecting chickens, ducks and guinea pigs to “supercharge” the viruses and make them more transmissible was one of the U.S.-sponsored research activities.

The National Institutes of Health, America’s primary agency for medical and public health research and response, awarded 15 grants totaling $3.6 million from fiscal years 2021 to 2023 to institutions in China that perform experiments on animals. The NIH also provided at least 92 sub-awards worth $12.5 million to institutions in China.

The organization also spent an estimated $140 million on animal experiments in 29 countries, federal spending data from 2020 revealed.

White Coat Waste Project, a watchdog group that was the first to discover the NIH sent millions of dollars to unmonitored and dangerous animal experiments in China and Russia, has been fighting to force the government to stop sending American tax dollars overseas to fund virus and drug testing on animals, according to the Daily Mail.

So far, their efforts have been successful because they were able to force the Biden administration to defund all animal labs in Russia earlier this year.

To defund all animal labs in China and other countries, WCWP teamed up with Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., to introduce the bipartisan Accountability in Foreign Animals Research Act.

“Our tax dollars should never be sent to state-run labs in adversary nations like Russia and China that threaten our national security,” McClain said.

“My AFAR Act would prohibit tax dollars from being shipped to animal testing labs in any countries that are deemed foreign adversaries.”

WCWP Senior Vice President Justin Goodman shared the sentiment.

“Our Worldwide Waste campaign has defunded the Wuhan lab, Putin’s kitten tests, and all Russian animal labs, but we’ve uncovered how dozens of animal labs in China are still eligible for more taxpayer money,” he said.

“Over 70% of taxpayers — Republicans and Democrats alike — oppose this reckless spending… Stop the money. Stop the madness.”

Top Dem. Senator Admits Gov’t Failure in Hawaii Wildfire’s Deadly Debacle

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A top Democrat senator and ally of President Joe Biden addressed the failures in the government’s response to the devastating wildfires that swept through Hawaii, leaving 93 individuals dead.

Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, admitted to the shortcomings that led to the catastrophe during an interview with CNN host Jake Tapper on Sunday.

During the interview, Tapper pressed Hirono about statewide assessments claiming the low threat of wildfires to Hawaii residents. Tapper also highlighted reports that the state government issued no warnings leading to the fire. Notably, none of the 80 warning sirens on the island were triggered.

“Why do you think officials were so unprepared for this?” Tapper asked Hirono in the Sunday edition of CNN’s State of the Union.

In response, Hirono acknowledged the lack of proper response. “I’m not going to make any excuses for this tragedy,” she said. She revealed that the attorney general had initiated a review of the incident, including the issues with the warning sirens and other actions taken.

Hirono further underscored the gravity of the situation, stating, “This is an entire town that has burned to the ground. Some 11,000 residents live there and the tourists who were there, thousands were evacuated.”

The interview shed light on the immediate and long-term challenges Hawaii faces in the aftermath of the wildfires.

Hirono’s comments came the same day after Biden faced scrutiny after responded, “No comment” when questioned about the deaths in Hawaii.

Prominent voices took to Twitter to condemn Biden’s lack of empathy for the deceased in the wildfires, with popular podcast host Matt Walsh calling him a “scumbag.”

While Biden refused to elaborate on any comments on Sunday, the White House had issued a statement offering his thoughts on the matter.

“Jill and I send our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones in the wildfires in Maui, and our prayers are with those who have seen their homes, businesses, and communities destroyed,” Biden stated on Aug. 9.

On the other hand, former President Donald Trump, a leading candidate for the Republican nominee president, blasted state officials in Hawaii for blaming climate change on the deadly wildfire.

“Our government was not prepared,” Trump said in a video shared by Jason Miller, a campaign aide. “Very importantly, the aftermath is going very poorly with the governor of the island wanting to do nothing but blame it on global warming and other things that happened to pop into his head.”

Report: FBI Took Utah Man’s Bloody Corpse to Curb after Shooting, Left Him There for Hours

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The FBI is maintaining its silence in the wake of agents killing Utah man Craig Robertson, but reports and witnesses raise troubling questions about possible bureau misconduct in last week’s armed raid against the obese, 75-year-old.

Citing a man who was Robertson’s neighbor, Utah-based outlet Deseret News reported last Thursday that the FBI failed to preserve its crime scene after the shooting, which came after Robertson made a slew of online threats against President Joe Biden and other government officials.

After firing a “barrage of bullets” that left Robertson dead around 6 a.m. last Wednesday, authorities immediately carried the man out of his house and placed him on the sidewalk. There, his lifeless and bloody body remained for about two hours, according to the neighbor.

“I understand they have procedures that have to be followed, but having his body out there for so long when there’s kids in the cul-de-sac…they could have done more. Because he was bleeding through the sheet,” a neighbor told the local outlet.

Libertarian Institute fellow Richard Booth—a researcher of right-wing domestic terrorism cases—noted the irregular manner in which the FBI handled its crime scene following the shooting.

“You would think the standard operating procedure would be to photograph the scene, trace the paths of all bullets fired, notate the location of the weapon he supposedly had, proximity to body, all that,” Booth said.

“Nope: Drag his corpse outside. NOT ADDING UP.”

Observers have been divided over whether the FBI’s killing of Robertson was justified. Libertarians and conservatives have largely treated him as a victim, while liberals said the FBI justly killed a potential assassin—even though the man had trouble walking.

The neighbors who knew Robertson told reportedly called him a “teddy bear” who was known for his woodworking and who would sit in the same seat at church every Sunday.

Another said he was barely mobile, weighed nearly 300 pounds and was unable to walk without a cane. He would drive to church, despite it only being about 200 yards from his home, because he had so much trouble moving around, according to Deseret News.

Robertson had been under FBI surveillance for months over his incendiary Facebook posts, including one where he said he was planning to clean “the dust off the M24 sniper rifle” because Biden was visiting Utah. He also posted that “perhaps Utah will become famous this week as the place a sniper took out Biden the Marxist.”

The FBI claims Robertson pointed a gun at law enforcement during last Wednesday’s shooting, but the bureau’s agents do not wear body cameras—so presumably there’s no footage of the shooting.

McDonald’s Pulls ESG from Golden Arches Website

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Woke McDonald’s Corp. quietly removed the term “ESG” from some parts of its website after the fast food chain saw conservatives push back against leftist corporations’ beliefs, specifically when it comes to environmental, social and governance initiatives.

In addition to regular Americans, some conservative politicians in the U.S. also expressed their criticism of ESG, Bloomberg News reported.

McDonald’s “Purpose & Impact” website recently removed several mentions of ESG. Even though most of the other text remained the same, some titles from their website were changed to avoid the backlash from conservatives who started to push back against “woke capitalism.”

One page’s original title, “ESG Approach & Progress,” was changed to “Our Approach & Progress,” while another web page that was previously titled “Performance & ESG Reporting” now shows up as “Goal Performance & Reporting.”

In some cases, McDonald’s removed their public display of support for ESG policies, while still hiding their woke ideology by using a typical Marxist gobbledygook such as “environmental and social issues.”

The fast food chain refused to comment on the changes but said that it is still committed to reporting annually on the company’s “progress on social and environmental goals,” Bloomberg reported. One such update was released earlier this month but was recently removed for an unknown reason.

“We’re lovin’ it!” State Financial Officers Foundation wrote in response.

American companies, including McDonald’s, have faced a backlash against their ESG-related shareholder proposals affecting issues like workers’ rights and diversity.

This prompted an Ohio-based asset management firm that was co-founded by Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to send a letter last month to McDonald’s, urging the company to do away with some of its diversity policies.

Despite all of the signs, McDonald’s, until it recently made some changes to the company’s plan, continued to engage with key stakeholder groups on environmental and social issues where it can have the greatest impact “against the backdrop of a continually changing external landscape,” the company’s website stated.

Disney, another woke corporation, also removed its diversity, equity and inclusion  programs as a response to the backlash from conservatives.

Matt Walsh Flips Script on ‘Stolen Land’ Narrative, Touts Liberation of Aztecs

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) In a recent tweet, conservative political activist and filmmaker Matt Walsh praised one of history’s great men, Hernan Cortes, for liberating the Aztec tribe from its brutal and inhumane tribal practices.

“One of the greatest triumphs in the history of western civilization, by one of history’s greatest men,” wrote the investigative journalist, who has made a splash routinely by questioning the left’s most sacred beliefs, one of which is that Cortes is one of the summits of evil that have risen up through history.

As intended, the Daily Wire provocateur’s post elicited a few unhinged leftist takes on social media, Twitchy reported.

One Twitter user, for example, took up the typical leftist position by siding with the native Aztecs, regardless of the barbarism of their practices.

“So one of the greatest triumphs of western history was to whip out an entire civilization??” they wrote.

But a more clear-sighted look at the history clarifies Walsh’s point: that the Spaniards in many ways saved the Aztec peoples from utterly barbaric practices.

In response, another user noted that the Aztecs were extraordinarily barbaric, engaging in large-scale human sacrifice and also cannibalism.

For the Aztecs, mass-scale murder was a religious imperative, necessary in order to stop the world from ending.

This practice led the Aztecs to alienate the neighboring tribes, which sided definitively with Cortes in order to escape the brutality of the empire under which they found themselves.

Many of those tribes were permitted to remain intact by Cortes after he liberated them from the rule of the tyrannical Aztecs.

Still, not to let historical accounts get in the way of their narrative, other left-wing twitter users appealed to genocide, arguing that Cortes and his men engaged in the intentional mass murder of a certain race with the end of extermination in mind.

But in reality Cortes and his men liberated thousands of other natives who were forcibly ruled and killed by the Aztecs.

“He stopped human sacrifice on an entire continent,” another user wrote in response.

WaPo Admits Hunter’s Plea Deal Was ‘Fishy,’ Joe’s Hands Are ‘Not Spotless’

(Headline USA) The Washington Post’s editorial board admitted this week that the plea deal offered to Hunter Biden by the Justice Department was “fishy” and that President Joe Biden’s hands aren’t “spotless” when it comes to his embattled son’s business dealings.

In an editorial arguing Attorney General Merrick Garland was right to appoint investigator David Weiss as special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation, the Post acknowledged that “critics might have been justified to suspect” that the Hunter Biden “was being given special treatment” by the president’s DOJ.

The editorial also cited the testimony from two IRS whistleblowers who said they were not able to pursue their investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings for political reasons.

That’s why a special counsel appointment is “justified,” the Post argued.

However, the publication tiptoed around acknowledging Joe Biden’s role in the scandal, even raising concerns that a special counsel investigation into Hunter Biden could turn into an investigation of his father.

“Special counsels should not be appointed lightly. They have tended to overspend and overreach. One temptation in the Hunter Biden case might be to investigate the president himself, as many of his critics wish,” the editorial board wrote. “So far, the record suggests President Biden’s behavior was not spotless—but also not criminal.”

Despite the Post’s assertion and that of other media outlets, Joe Biden’s apparent acceptance of a $5 million bribe while vice president in return for pressuring Ukraine to end a corruption investigation into the Burisma energy company is one of several acts of clear-cut criminality for which the House Oversight Committee has thus far uncovered hard evidence.

Others note that the threshold for impeaching the president need not be limited to acts of criminality—and, indeed, that Democrats lowered the threshold in their spurious efforts to impeach former President Donald Trump.

Critics also note that the appointment of Weiss, who brokered the original sweetheart plea deal with Hunter, is likely intended to hinder and obstruct the House Oversight investigation, not to augment it.

The Post seemed inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to Weiss, the Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney for Delaware, who had earlier complained that he lacked the authority to file charges outside of his jurisdiction without Garland’s approval.

The only thing Weiss should focus on is treating “Hunter Biden, as far as possible, like any other defendant,” the Post said. “Mr. Weiss has all the independence and resources he needs.”

Just a few years ago, the Washington Post was one of several mainstream publications to toss water on revelations from Hunter Biden’s laptop, uncritically publishing claims that the laptop was “Russian disinformation.”

In one article about the laptop, the Post cited “intelligence experts” who claimed it had been part of a “carefully planned information operation designed to affect an American election.”

REPORT: Biden-Affiliated Super PAC Violating Law to Raise Dark Money

(Headline USA) A super PAC affiliated with President Joe Biden may have violated campaign finance law by failing to disclose the identities of donors connected to a large cash transfer from a liberal dark money group.

Future Forward, a super PAC supporting Biden’s reelection efforts, failed to reveal the donors behind a $3.4 million it pocketed from Future Forward USA Action, a dark money advocacy organization affiliated with Future Forward.

Political action committees are required by law to disclose contribution sources. The Federal Election Commission has cracked down on a number of right-leaning organizations for failing to abide by these rules, including in 2017 when the FEC slammed the American Conservative Union with a $350,000 fine for failing to properly disclose a $1.71 million super PAC donation.

“Future Forward USA Action admitted to making over $3 million in earmarked political contributions, where they apparently obscured the true super PAC donor’s identity by routing the money through the nonprofit,” Republican election lawyer Charlie Spies told the Washington Free Beacon. “The U.S. DOJ has sent people to prison for this sort of illegal activity, and the FEC has imposed major fines on conservative organizations accused of less blatant earmarking.”

Future Forward seems to have used this strategy repeatedly over the past several years. The group’s latest FEC filing, for example, shows it raised just $67,000 from identifiable donors in the first half of 2023. But weeks earlier, the group told the New York Times it had raised $50 million for Biden’s reelection campaign during that same time frame.

The report comes about a year after Biden pushed Congress to restrict the use of dark money in federal elections.

“There’s much too much money that flows in the shadows to influence our elections. It’s called dark money. It’s hidden,” Biden said last September. “Ultimately this comes down to public trust. Dark money erodes public trust. We need to protect public trust and I’m determined to do that.”

RFK Jr. Voices Support for Federal Abortion Ban, then Flip-Flops

(Robert Jonathan, Headline USA) Biden climate czar John Kerry—the former Massachusetts senator, failed Democrat presidential candidate and habitual waffler—is well known to have idolized the Kennedy family. Now, it seems, a Kennedy is borrowing a page from Kerry’s political playbook.

Current Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may have been for abortion restrictions before he was against them.

During a back and forth at the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, Kennedy told an NBC reporter that if he becomes president, he would be willing to sign federal legislation banning abortion after three months into a pregnancy.

The celebrated vaccine skeptic, whom critics have labeled a conspiracy theorist, argued that, as a practical matter, most abortions were performed in the first trimester anyway.

“I believe that a decision to abort a child should [be] up to the women during the first three months of life,” he noted.

“Once a child is viable outside the womb, I think then the state has an interest in protecting that child,” he continued. “… I’m for medical freedom. Individuals are able to make their own choices…I think the states have a right to protect a child once the child becomes viable…”

The Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision last year returned abortion regulation to the states after 50 years of court-imposed fiat. However, the issue remains far from resolved, with Democrats hoping it will become a rallying cry at both the state and federal level.

Republicans, meanwhile, remain largely divided over whether to pursue federal legislation that would ban abortion altogether or to continue allowing each state to make its own determination on the legality of slaughtering innocent babes in the womb.

Following his remarks, RFK Jr.’s campaign issued a clarification of sorts.

“Today, Mr. Kennedy misunderstood a question posed to him by a NBC reporter in a crowded, noisy exhibit hall at the Iowa State Fair,” it said in a statement.

“Mr. Kennedy’s position on abortion is that it is always the woman’s right to choose,” it continued. “He does not support legislation banning abortion.”

Returning to a pro-abortion position after a “misunderstanding,” though, the dark-horse primary contender is unlikely to have endeared himself to much of the Democrat base, which seems to consider abortion on demand perhaps another form of settled science.

Even with his liberal bona fides, as a free speech advocate who also champions medical freedom, RFK Jr. is already seldom on the same page with the pro-Biden, pro-establishment contingent.

In the NBC video, it seems evident that RFK Jr. uncharacteristically hesitated in the way he answered the reporter’s line of questioning on this hot-button issue.

Whether he was being set up is a matter of speculation.

That aside, the conversation may be a reasonable reflection of how many Americans are conflicted about this sensitive, personal issue given the politicized media’s simplistic attempt to push everyone into either the pro-abortion or pro-life camp.

In late July, RFK Jr. reversed course on another issue: the need for an investigation into Biden family corruption allegations.

“[W]e really need a real investigation of what happened,” the candidate told Fox News/Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo.

Driverless Cars Cause Major Traffic Jam in San Fran.

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) A fleet of confused self-driving taxis caused a traffic jam in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood on Friday evening—one day after regulators voted to allow the self-driving cabs free reign of the city.

The 10 cabs, all owned by the Cruise company, had “wireless connectivity issues,” resulting in the trapping of numerous human drivers and several blocked streets, according to Breitbart.

Social media posts claimed that the nearby Outside Lands Music Festival made it difficult for the cars to adequately connect.

Cruise is reportedly considering building out its own San Francisco-based cell phone network in order to avoid future mishaps.

Human drivers suffered through the unnecessary traffic as the self-driving robot vehicles blocked two major streets in the neighborhood’s restaurant district. The cars sat for an estimated 15 minutes, hazards flashing, before reconnecting to the server and moving on.

Cruise and Waymo—driverless cab companies owned by General Motors and Alphabet respectively—recently received permission from the California Public Utilities Commission to charge for rides without a safety driver present at all hours of the day.

The ruling took place on Thursday; the incident in North Beach followed the subsequent evening. The recent resolutions permit fleets of any size and do not have restrictions around mileage.

The vehicles cannot operate at speeds over 65 miles per hour; neither of the companies deployed vehicles onto the city’s freeways.

The city does not require the companies to report how many vehicles they have in operation. City officials vehemently opposed the lifting of the restrictions, largely due to safety concerns.

Transportation and fire officials voiced concern about disruptive incidents such as unplanned stops and unpredictable driving.

“The irony is that this happened the night after the CPUC irresponsibly gave them the green light for unlimited vehicles over the city’s objections,” said Aaron Peskin, San Francisco Supervisor.

Cruise announced they reached 4 million driverless miles on Thursday. The company hit their 1 million mile mark as recently as February.
