The leader of Greater New York’s Black Lives Matter, a terrorist orrganization, warned Mayor-Elect Eric Adams, a Democrat, that he should expect “bloodshed” if he strengthens the city’s law enforcement, American Greatness reported.
“If he thinks that they’re going to go back to the old ways of policing, then we are going to take to the streets again,” Hawk Newsome said. “There will be riots, there will be fire and there will be bloodshed because we believe in defending our people.”
Newsome’s sister, Chivona Newsome, who co-founded BLM of Greater New York, echoed her brother’s statement.
“We will shut down City Hall, and we will give him hell and make it a nightmare,” she said.
Adams met with Hawk Newsome in a private meeting at Brooklyn’s Borough Hall that ended in screaming and sharp disagreement.
Adams said he may reassemble New York City’s anti-crime police unit, which wears common clothes for undercover investigations.
Newsome considered this a non-starter and compared the organization to the Nazi Germany’s secret police, the Gestapo. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat, disbanded the unit.
Newsome demanded that Adams retain de Blasio’s anti-police policies, which have caused the city’s homicide and crime rate to skyrocket.
Newsome has threatened terrorist action in the past for the political system’s non-compliance with his demands, yet Adams sat to negotiate with him.
“If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it,” Newsome said in a Fox News interview last year. “All right?”
Adams previously served as a police officer, and he promised to enact a more moderate policy agenda than de Blasio if elected. For example, he opposed all efforts to defund or dismantle the police department, though he still labeled himself a progressive Democrat.
