Nero-in-Chief Brandon Parties as Economy Implodes, Prices Soar

'Your grocery bill has never been higher. Joe Biden is celebrating... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) President Joe Biden took a victory lap Tuesday to celebrate the Democrats’ $740 billion, IRS super-sizing, radical climate alarmist boondoggle, praising the Inflation Reduction Act, which will do nothing to fight inflation, as Americans are lining up at breadlines and food banks, consumer prices are soaring, the Dow tanked close to 1,300 points and the NASDAQ plummeted.

Biden didn’t actually fiddle like Nero, but he did bring in leftist warbler James Taylor for entertainment. The performance went about as well as the stock market, which during Biden’s celebration unraveled in real-time at a frightening pace.

“Today offers proof that the soul of America is vibrant, the future of America is bright and the promise of America is real,” Biden crowed.

The vibrancy of Biden’s economy was in full display earlier Tuesday when the Bureau of Labor Statistics  released its Consumer Price Index that showed the cost of nearly all consumer goods has gone through the roof of a housing market that is pricing out most of America.

Consumer prices climbed 8.3% higher in August compared with last year, the BLS reported.

“Increases in the shelter, food, and medical care indexes were the largest of many contributors to the broad-based monthly all items increase,” the BLS said.

“It’s been good for the country,” Biden bragged of the Inflation Reduction Act, claiming that it “helped reduce inflation at the kitchen table.”

The BLS report ripped the curtain off Biden’s festive gaslighting.

“The food at home index rose 13.5 percent over the last 12 months, the largest 12-month increase since the period ending March 1979,” the BLS reported.

“The index for other food at home rose 16.7 percent and the index for cereals and bakery products increased 16.4 percent over the year. The remaining major grocery store food groups posted increases ranging from 9.4 percent (fruits and vegetables) to 16.2 percent (dairy and related products).”

Cheaper gas prices, artificially depressed by Biden’s oil reserve raids, were offset by crippling 12-month spikes in the cost of electricity (15.8%), rent (6.8%) and health insurance (24.3%).

Never one to let facts stand in the way of partisan grandstanding, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised Biden for the bounty of inflation that the Democrats’ failing policies have produced.

“Your extraordinary leadership has made this glorious day possible,” Pelosi cackled. “That’s an applause line.”

Consumers and families across America were left struggling to find a reason to clap.

“As Americans continue to experience financial hardship, the White House is throwing a taxpayer-funded celebration to commemorate raising taxes on working families,” wrote Rep. Kevin Hern, R-Okla.

“It’s no surprise 78 percent of hourly workers are unsure they’ll be able to afford food in the next two weeks,” tweeted Florida Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan. “#Bidenflation is draining Americans’ wallets and savings accounts. Plain and simple.”
