In spite of growing evidence that the omicron wave of coronavirus has likely peaked and might have proved beneficial in boosting herd immunity because of its milder symptoms, government tyrants are already looking for ways to retain their authoritarian hold over the public.
The latest push comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is prepping new guidelines for the recommended wearing of the highly protective, albeit disconcertingly uncomfortable and cumbersome, N95 or KN95 masks worn by healthcare professionals, reported the Washington Post.
“The agency is currently actively looking to update its recommendations for KN95 and N95 in light of omicron,” a CDC official told the Post. “We know these masks provide better filtration.”
Indeed, CDC officials and other medical bureaucrats have known that to be the case since the onset of COVID, despite the blatant early-stage lies from Covid Czar Anthony “The Science” Fauci downplaying the efficacy of masks. That was until, purportedly, the supply of masks become abundant enough for government to begin issuing monarchical mask and vaccine mandates.
The Omicron variant, however, has managed to infect even the fully vaccinated and boosted, in most cases producing mild symptoms, but at elevated levels of contagion. The solution to that dilemma, according to the CDC, is to double-down on masking, with recommendations that will in all likelihood evolve into mandates.
Calls for a push in that direction have already started.
“Mask policies that ensure people with covid and people around them are wearing high-quality masks do the most to reduce covid spread,” said Julia Raifman, an assistant professor at Boston University School of Public Health.
The government should not only recommend high-quality masks, she added, but also make them available and required in workplaces.
Given the previous lies and flip-flops that Fauci and others have spewed about masking, the newest mask guidance might be met with deserved skepticism, particularly when Fauci and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky are already sending mixed messages with their words and deeds.
The latest example came during this week’s Senate hearing on COVID and future mask guidance. Walensky stayed double-masked during the hearing, while Fauci unmasked to answer questions and take a break. The Daily Wire provided a rundown of the backlash:
“Dr. Fauci is maskless during testimony while Dr. Walensky double masks. The mixed messaging continues,” Dr. Nicole Saphier noted, and she was far from alone in her observation.
Politico health care reporter Alice Miranda Ollstein added, “CDC Director Walensky kept her (double) mask on while giving her testimony. Fauci has removed his.”
“Hi @CDCDirector why are you wearing a mask (2 actually) even when you talk, but fauci takes his mask off when he talks? shouldn’t you all be wearing masks when you talk because #covidisairborne what’s the science in that?” Judah Friedlander asked.
