Mitch McConnell Jeered, Told to ‘Retire’ in Home-State Speech

'This is my 28th Fancy Farm, and I want to assure you it’s not my last... '

(Abdul–Rahman Oladimeji Bello, Headline USA) Attendees at the 143rd Annual St. Jerome Fancy Farm Picnic gave Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell a loud jeering as a welcome on Saturday, when “retire” echoed as the brain-freezing RINO tried to give his speech.

The 81-year-old Republican has been a party leader in the Senate since 2006 and is scheduled to serve until 2026, according to the Western Journal.

However, some people in McConnell’s home state of Kentucky seemed to believe it’s time for him to leave office as soon as possible. A video showed some of the crowd of about 15,000 people refusing to listen to his speech as they chanted “retire” at the top of their lungs.

A report by Spectrum News noted that some in the crowd also shouted “lost the senate” as McConnel tried to give his speech.

Many citizens have shown concerns about the minority leader’s health as he has suffered from several health issues since a fall earlier in March.

However, McConnell noted on Saturday, “This is my 28th Fancy Farm, and I want to assure you it’s not my last,” as his early retirement might be securing another senate seat for the Democrats.

Ignoring the jeers, McConnell continued, “it’s not hard for Republicans to look good these days. We’re up against the folks who gave you record high inflation, we’re up against folks who close schools and then told you teachers’ unions know what’s best, we’re up against folks who rather let repeat offenders walk free.”

With only three months left for Kentucky voters to make their voting decision, McConnell gave his two cents to the crowd. He said, “Biden and Beshear aren’t working for Kentucky. Andy might as well be on the White House payroll, and it’s high time he was honest about it.”

Concluding his pitch, McConnell said, “It’s good we have a Republican General Assembly to keep the governor in check.”
