Mark Wahlberg Tells Virtue-Signaling Fellow Celebs to Pipe Down

'They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) In an interview with Task & Purpose, actor Mark Wahlberg made it very clear that he does not believe celebrities should opine about politics.

“A lot of celebrities do, and shouldn’t,” Walhberg said.

“A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family,” he said.

“You know, it just goes to show you that people aren’t listening to that anyway. They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills.

“Me, I’m very aware of the real world,” he continued. “I come from the real world and I exist in the real world. And although I can navigate Hollywood and I love the business and the opportunities it’s afforded me, I also understand what it’s like not to have all that.”

Wahlberg made these statements at a luncheon for his most recent project, “Patriot Day,” which he considers to be the third in a trilogy of movies that he has directed with his brother, Peter Berg.

All three movies depict real-life events and tell stories of heroism from real people in life-threatening situations.

Wahlberg’s statements follow on the heels of a bevvy of actors calling for the defunding of the Canada Gas pipeline.

Household names such as Mark Ruffalo, Leonardo DeCaprio and Ben Stiller have signed a letter giving their reasoning for the possible defunding, and have launched a public relations campaign complete with its own hashtag: #NoMoreDirtyBanks.

The letter states that the Royal Bank of Canada, owner of the pipeline, is “bankrolling the climate crisis and violating the rights of indigenous peoples.”

The letter was signed by 65 celebrities in total.

Some of those 65 celebrities put together a video discussing the pipeline and why they believe it is a problem, to which the Royal Bank of Canada has not responded.
