Man Calls Cops over Letter Asking Him to Take Down BLM Flags

'Take down the BLM sign, BLM is a scam... '

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) A Massachusetts man called the police after he received a letter in the mail criticizing his Black Lives Matter sign and other woke propaganda on his house.

Dave Thomas, of Hanover, received the letter and called the police because he and his family were frightened by its contents, according to WCVB-TV.

The letter was sent through the postal service and had no name or return address listed, according to The Blaze.

Thomas told WCVB-TV that his family was frightened by the greeting card that was sent to their house criticizing his left-wing decorations and telling them to move to another state.

“Hi neighbor, thank you for helping keep our property taxes so low due to the fact your home is a [expletive]hole,” the letter began. The letter continued with a bullet-point list of demands:

  • “Paint it.
  • Take down the pride flag. No one cares.
  • Take down the BLM sign, BLM is a scam.
  • Pull the Sanders sticker off the mailbox, it’s the law.
  • Finally, move to California or Oregon so you can enjoy living with the rest of the NUTS!”

The above quotations compose the entirety of the letter, except the omitted profanity.

“It was just kind of a little frightening,” Thomas said, despite the lack of any threats or calls to violence in the letter.  He reported that he would not abide by the directions in the ‘frightening’ letter.

“”We have every right to put these flags in front of our house and to express our opinions,” he said. “I’ve been seeing a lot of people expressing their opinions in a lot more impolite ways.”

The police informed Thomas that nothing in the letter was criminal, and the author of the letter was also protected by the First Amendment.

Thomas reported that this arrangement of mutual freedom made him anxious.

“We’re just keeping our eyes open and making sure that nothing else happens ,” he said. “It’s a little nerve-wracking, and it makes me angry and upset.”
