(Preston Parra, Headline USA) Chicago Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot is now on her next escapade of doing something other than lifting her city out of poverty and crime.
This week, Lightfoot fled the cesspool she has created to fly across the pond to Europe to promote everything she claims to have done for Chicago, according to Fox News.
“Chicago’s economy is thriving and our business sector has set records, keeping us competitive with top global financial cities,” Lightfoot proclaimed as she escaped for her junket to Paris and London.
That would probably come as news to businessman Ken Griffin, who recently announced he was pulling his mega-finance company Citadel out of Chicago.
“I’ve had multiple colleagues mugged at gunpoint. I’ve had a colleague stabbed on the way to work,” he said about his decision to move because of the city’s decline.
Citadel isn’t alone.
Businesses are fleeing Chicago faster than Lightfoot can insult a Supreme Court justice. At least six big corporations disclosed they’re exiting from the economically-trashed city this month. Joining Citadel in parting ways from Lightfoot’s leftist ruin are airplane manufacturing giant Boeing and construction equipment Caterpillar.
Unsurprisingly, even the most poorly-reputable Democrats somehow maintain a false sense of accomplishment. And for Lightfoot, that’s precisely what she did in Europe this week while gearing up to speak at Fintech Week in London.
Her speech will supposedly discuss Chicago’s financial tech industry, which according to a press release claims Chicago “established itself as a hub for fintech companies looking to grow.”
Despite Lightfoot’s glowing description of Chicago, the city is plagued by not only poor economic structure for both small and big businesses to conduct themselves; but is also one of the leading cities in the country when it comes to crime and murder.
The mayhem includes Chicago’s criminal death toll, which had eclipsed that of the wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq, according to Forbes.
Maybe if Chicago’s remaining residents are lucky, their mayor will stay in London for an indefinitely-extended visit.
