(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) New York Times reporter Matthew Rosenburg has been receiving an avalanche of criticism after tweeting out a suggestion that the mainstream media look inward to discover why Americans have placed their trust in Joe Rogan, The Blaze reported.
“The Joe Rogan Experience” has been averaging 11 million listeners per episode.
The most popular cable news shows can only dream of achieving numbers like Rogan’s, and even the most popular talk radio programs average per week what Rogan does per episode.
Joe Rogan is what he is. We in the media might want to spend more time thinking about why so many people trust him instead of us.

“Joe Rogan is what he is,” Rosenberg tweeted. “We in the media might want to spend more time thinking about why so many people trust him instead of us.”
Many responses requested a more specific explanation from Rosenberg, who went on to say the purpose of his tweet was to catch the attention of his colleagues.
He also argued that Rogan should not be controlled and self-reflection within the media—followed by prompt, appropriate action—would improve the media’s public perception.
So far, responses have been mixed. Many appreciate Rogan’s open and conversational style, while some believe he is a racist propagandist for the right-wing. Many prominent commentators and journalists such as Candace Owens and Nikole Hannah-Jones also chimed in:
Bingo.
Calls to censor people that have taken your viewers and readers is not going to bring those viewers and readers back to you.
In fact, it nearly guarantees that they will never return.
Not sure why it’s so hard for the mainstream media to work through this equation. https://t.co/qsUcHzT7dY— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) January 30, 2022

We don’t need to trust @joerogan. He’s not telling us what to think. He’s simply interviewing people, letting us decide for ourselves whose views make sense.
Totally different from media pundits preaching their propaganda at us every day from the same @dnc talking points memos.
