Kamala Says Religion Has No Place in Abortion Debate

'This talk of politicizing all of this, I think, is something uniquely American and not right... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) In a speech at a Christian Baptist church, Vice President Kamala Harris insisted that there is nothing in the Christian faith that conflicts with abortion rights and the killing of unborn babies.

Harris, an alleged practicing Baptist, said she “convened with faith leaders’ to discuss abortion from a religious perspective,” according to the Daily Mail.

“For those of us of faith, I think that we agree, many of us, that there’s nothing about this issue that will require anyone to abandon their faith, or change their faith,” she said, referring to abortion.

“It’s simply saying that the government should not have the ability to decide what an individual does with her own body—let her make that decision with her pastor or her rabbi, or whoever she consults.”

Harris did not cite any specific doctrine that allows for a mother to kill her own child, and did not make cases against any specific, faith-based arguments.

Harris was roundly ridiculed for her pandering on Twitter:

Of course, Harris is not alone in proclaiming that her supposed Christian faith should not cause any moral qualms about aborting babies.

Notably, President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., are pro-abortion and proclaim that they are devout Catholics.

“Let me just say this,” Harris expanded. “A woman has a right to choose to live up to her responsibility. It’s up to her, her doctor, her family, her husband, her significant other and her God. This talk of politicizing all of this, I think, is something uniquely American and not right.”

“… I’m a very Catholic person, and I believe in every woman’s right to make her own decisions.”
