Kamala: Anti-Grooming Restrictions on Books Make LGBT People Afraid for Their Lives

'This fight is not over, when I look at ... people afraid to be, to be...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Resurrecting the Left’s recent trope attacking common-sense restrictions on pornographic content in school libraries, Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday claimed that Republican-led “book bans” were making LGBT people fear for their lives.

Harris made the claim during a visit to the Stonewall Inn in New York City—a site considered sacred ground in the 20th-century “gay rights” movement, the Daily Caller reported.

“This fight is not over, when I look at the fact that in our country, we’re looking at somewhere around 600 bills being proposed or passed, anti-LGBTQ, book bans, a policy approach that is ‘don’t say gay,’ people in fear for their life, people afraid to be, to be!” Harris said.

Harris did not call out any offenders by name, but leftists previously accused Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of banning pornographic books such as Gender Queer and It’s Perfectly Normal after signing a bill establishing some parental control over the books young students read in the classroom.

DeSantis also discontinued the educational use of 54 math textbooks that were rife with woke indoctrination.

One textbook combined algebra questions with historical trivia questions about the life of author Maya Angelou.

“It seems that some publishers attempted to slap a coat of paint on an old house built on the foundation of Common Core, and indoctrinating concepts like race essentialism, especially, bizarrely, for elementary school students,” said DeSantis.

The mainstream media has also accused parents who simply want to keep their children’s innocence intact, of “book banning,” with the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center going so far as to label the group Moms for Liberty a “hate group” on par with the Ku Klux Klan.

Democrat activists also have been up in arms over red-state efforts to prevent the life-altering chemical castration and genital mutilation of minors, thereby depriving pharmaceutical corporations of a highly lucrative cottage industry.

Currently, at least 16 states have passed bans or restrictions on so-called “gender affirming care.” The American Civil Liberties Union is in the process of suing the states in order to block the laws.

“You cannot cure gender dysphoria with a knife,” said Oklahoma state Sen. David Bullard about legislation he sponsored banning the practice.

Harris, who stands to assume the presidency should Joe Biden be forced out or become incapacitated, has done very little other than tout far-left talking points in recent days. Most recently, she pushed the legacy of the pro-abortion movement onto teenage girls and invented a new federal agency out of thin air.
