(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) After celebrating Columbus Day with a tweet, Virginia state Senate candidate Tina Ramirez, a Republican, was accused of child abuse by left-wing freelance writer David Leavitt.
The unhinged activist even urged his Twitter followers to report Ramirez, a single mother, to Child Protective Services for recognizing the Genoan explorer who brought Western civilization to the Americas, the Daily Wire reported
In Ramirez’s initial Tweet, she made the basic claim that she wished to teach her daughter about Christopher Columbus rather than erase history.

“I teach my daughter real American history,” she wrote. “I refuse to join the radical left’s campaign to erase history.”
That tweet, however, triggered Leavitt, a children’s board-game fanatic and self-described multimedia journalist who purports to have bylines with CBS and Yahoo, among other news outlets.
“Why are you celebrating torture, rape, murder, and enslavement?” he asked.
Leavitt became even more bellicose later on, telling his 330,000 Twitter followers to report Ramirez to Child Protective Services for teaching her daughter about a hero of the American tradition.
Leavitt himself also called CPS to tell on the senatorial candidate.

“Can someone please call child care services on Tina Ramirez who’s teaching her child to be a racist?” he wrote, later reporting the wait time to talk to a CPS bureaucrat.
Ramirez continued to slam Leavitt for his obsession with her and her child, describing the situation to her followers:
“Radical leftist @David_Leavitt didn’t just call CPS to level accusations against me,” she continued. “He waited an hour on hold, tying up the lines of our CPS professionals trying to help Virginia’s children. The radical left is willing to put our children at risk to cancel conservatives.”
Ramirez hearkened back to the successful campaign that Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin ran in 2021 using parental outrage over schools to reclaim the governor’s mansion in a state that had been trending blue for more than a decade.
“It’s no surprise that a member of the radical left is willing to go so far as to call CPS on a single mother—simply because they want to erase history,” she said. “The radical left doesn’t want parents making decisions for their own families.”
Leavitt is of course engaging in a typical practice for wealthy leftist white people: telling minorities how racist they are if they value anything about their nation or its history.
President Joe Biden is even on board with such tactics. While campaigning in 2020 he claimed that if you’re a black person who votes for Donald Trump, you “ain’t black.”
