Jordan Hammers Far-Left Rep. for Gaslighting on Open Border, Honors MS-13 Victim

'That is not a secure border. That is not a closed border... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, called out fellow Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington at a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing, after she claimed Republicans launched an “assault” on illegal immigrants.

“After passing their extreme, cruel and unworkable border bill…Republicans have spent the last few weeks fear mongering about the border,” Jayapal said, adding Republicans “claim the border is open.”

According to the Daily Caller, Jordan responded by calling Jayapal out for her mischaracterization of the situation.

“I think the ranking member started her statement by saying the border is ‘secure.’ Really?” Jordan said. “More than five-and-a-half million illegal aliens along the Southwest border have been encountered since Joe Biden took office, two million of these illegal aliens have been released into American communities and more than one-and-a-half million known illegal ‘gotaways’ have successfully crossed the Southwest border undetected.”

Jordan continued, bringing up the many security concerns that have erupted since the Biden administration took power.

“These [gotaways] include criminal gang members, drug dealers and individuals on the terrorist watch list,” he said. “That is not a secure border. That is not a closed border.”

Jayapal attempted to respond, saying she never claimed the border was “secure” and that she was attempting to “correct the record because [Jordan] stated something that was not true.”

The head of the meeting admonished Jayapal for breaking the rules, as she cut Jordan off mid-sentence. Jordan continued his statement, listing the many changes the Democrats made to border policy since they took power.

“Day one of [the Biden] administration they stopped construction of the wall, they ended Remain in Mexico and they put back in place catch and release,” he said. “Day one. That is why we have the situation we do.”

The representative went on to honor Kayla Hamilton, who was murdered by a recently released MS-13 gang member and illegal immigrant in Aberdeen, Maryland.

“The Committee’s and Subcommittee’s oversight has revealed that the Biden Administration insufficiently vetted Kayla’s murderer and allowed him to enter the country,” Jordan and Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement Chairman Tom McClintock, R-Calif., wrote in a report on the situation.

The Aberdeen Police Department discovered the suspect’s gang affiliations by calling law enforcement in El Salvador. The federally-run Department of Homeland Security or the Department of Health and Human Services did not perform such extensive vetting when allowing the suspect to enter the country.
