Hunter’s Shocking Child Support Settlement: Name Ban and Payment Drop

'The case is sealed, and these are financial terms that should never be disclosed...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) Hunter Biden, the embattled son of President Joe Biden, has reportedly reached a settlement with Lunden Roberts, the mother of his four-year-old daughter, over child support payments.

The settlement agreement resulted in the reduction of Hunter’s mandated payments from $20,000 to $5,000. In an explicable twist, Hunter also prohibited his daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, from using the Biden last name, as reported by the Daily Mail.

While the full details of the settlement were not publicly disclosed, the Daily Mail reported that Navy Joan’s upbringing is to be kept secret.

News of the settlement emerged a week after attorneys for Roberts dismissed a report by the New York Post that hinted that the case was nearing a resolution.

“The case is sealed, and these are financial terms that should never be disclosed,” said Clint Lancaster, Roberts’s attorney in response to the report.

According to the Daily Mail, Hunter claimed to be unemployed and without any income in depositions.

Roberts had sought to have her daughter use the highly recognizable last name “Biden,” but Hunter’s legal team rejected the request. The reason behind Hunter’s refusal — which is supported by President Joe Biden as the family refuses recognize the child — remain unknown.

The Post reported that Hunter initially denied being Navy Joan’s father but later recanted his claims after a DNA test in 2019 confirmed his paternity.

Lancaster stated that Hunter’s deposition played a significant role in Roberts’s decision to settle the case. “It was significant that Lunden was there,” Lancaster added, referring to Hunter’s deposition. “I believe the settlement is important to Hunter Biden, but we have concerns that Hunter would use it to further his own agenda… Settlement negotiations often involve more than meets the eye.”

The settlement, which follows years of legal disputes between the two parents, comes in the wake of Hunter’s highly scrutinized plea deal with the DOJ regarding his failure to pay taxes on time and his purchase of a weapon.
