As the hearings dragged on, NBC cut away from the pretend drama, shifting the hearing to their failing online streaming service, RedState reported.
According to NBC host Lester Holt, the coverage had to switch because of the top of the hour.
“As we come up to the top of the hour, we’re going to have to end our coverage of this January 6 hearing on the NBC network,” Holt said, before noting that coverage would be pawned off to the network’s streaming service.
“My colleagues and I will continue our coverage of the hearings on our streaming platform NBC news now. For everyone else, U.S. Open golf begins momentarily.”
Some leftists on Twitter were angered by the network’s decision, suggesting that it was an affront to democracy.

“NBC Lester Holt just said they have to end their live coverage of the Jan. 6th hearing and go to the U.S. Open golf,” Alison Greene wrote. “Choosing golf over democracy… how very appropriate.”
Of course the hearings, if anything, have only made Americans more likely to oppose Democrats. Further, it is likely that NBC was simply doing what was most profitable–in this case, dropping a witch hunt and switching to a golf tournament.
