(Headline USA) Hilaria Baldwin, wife of actor Alec Baldwin, complained about the “emotional time” her family is undergoing as a result of the impending involuntary manslaughter charge against Alec for his role in the deadly Rust shooting.
“It’s been an emotional time for my family,” Hilaria said on her podcast, “Witches Anonymous,” this week.
She went on to thank her listeners for their “support and your kindness and your reason.”
“Quite honestly, I think without it, we would crumble,” she said. “So thank you so much for being our rock right now, because I don’t feel so strong.”
Specifically, Hilaria said she worries about the effect the public scrutiny will have on her seven children.
“Kids are sponges,” she said. “And while certain conversations are not always age-appropriate, we cannot deny that they don’t feel the energy and pick up on certain things in the family and at home. Also, parenting little people can be stressful regardless of added stress.”
Alec Baldwin was charged Tuesday with involuntary manslaughter for the death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on Tuesday. He could face up to five years behind bars if convicted.
“The District Attorney and the special prosecutor are fully focused on securing justice for Halyna Hutchins,” said Heather Brewer, a spokesperson for Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies. “The evidence and the facts speak for themselves.”
Baldwin’s legal team has dismissed the charges as “politically motivated” and said they will challenge them in court.
“This decision distorts Halyna Hutchins’ tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice,” Baldwin attorney Luke Nikas said in a statement. “Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun – or anywhere on the movie set. He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win.”
