Hannity Feeling Aftershock as Fox Viewers Walk Away Post-Tucker

'Fox News is dead... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) In the wake of Fox News’s firing of former prime time host Tucker Carlson, the rest of the company has taken a massive hit.

Feeling the pain most of all may be Fox host Sean Hannity, whose viewer totals dropped by approximately one million, Revolver News reported.

Fox News totals have dropped substantially since the firing in what is often considered to be one of the most vital demographics: viewers ages 25-54.

Hannity’s show in particular has taken a major hit, ostensibly since it followed Tucker Carlson Tonight, which routinely drew massive audiences.

Hannity, however, has done his share to alienate his own viewers.

Recently, Hannity continued his long, slow decline from a once-vaunted spot atop the network’s primetime roster by rudely attacking Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., over her refusal to support Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., for the House Speaker position.

He has also boosted America’s involvement with and support for Ukraine in recent months and taken a decidedly hostile approach to former President Donald Trump.

Taking over for Carlson is Brian Kilmeade, who is now hosting a show in Carlson’s old time slot called Fox News Tonight.

Kilmeade has generated little interest so far, and that does not appear to be changing any time soon.

Fox drew 1.33 million viewers for substitute host Brian Kilmeade in the 8 p.m. slot on Wednesday night, putting the network second to MSNBC’s Chris Hayes in a competition Carlson used to dominate.

That’s down 56% from the 3.05 million viewers Carlson reached last Wednesday. For all of 2022, Carlson averaged 3.03 million viewers, second only to Fox’s The Five as the most popular program on cable television.

Carlson posted his own alternative monologue on Wednesday, drawing 62.7 million views.

Hannity’s fall coincides with a the larger tanking of Fox News, whose stock plummeted earlier this week following Carlson’s departure.
