One gun rights group is warning that the new year will see new assaults by leftist gun-grabbers intent on eroding Second Amendment protections.
To combat the threat, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) will be running 60-second TV spots around the country about the push by liberals to go fully anti-gun.
“We’re expecting an unprecedented assault on Second Amendment rights heading into the new year,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb. “Anti-gunners will grasp at straws to grab every headline they can, and make no mistake, they are determined to help Biden go after your rights in 2022.”

In addition to efforts at the local level to make gun ownership difficult, Democrats in the U.S. House passed several pieces of anti-gun legislation in 2021 that President Joe Biden had every intention of signing, but the bills failed to pass in the U.S. Senate.
North Carolina Republican Rep. Virginia Foxx characterized the bills as “attempts by the federal government to exert more force over law-abiding citizens who want to protect themselves and their families,” according to NPR.
The anti-gun push is expected as Democrats look likely to lose control of the House and perhaps the Senate during the 2022 midterms, if Democrat retirements are any indication.
“Democratic Rep. Brenda Lawrence of Michigan announced on Tuesday that she will not seek reelection to the House this year after four terms representing Michigan’s 14th District, becoming the 25th House Democrat to announce they’re leaving at the end of this term,” rather than seek re-election said CNN.
NBC News called the Democrats departures a “wave of retirements [that] rocks Democrats’ hopes of holding the House.”
So the Democrats will waste no effort while they still have a majority, said Gottlieb.
“The billionaire-backed gun-ban lobby is fearful of a gun rights ruling from the Supreme Court this summer, and a power flip at the mid-term elections,” he said, “so they will be pushing Biden and their allies on Capitol Hill and in several states to get things done now, before they lose the political muscle to push their agenda.”
SAF will broadcast its 60-second message on several networks including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax TV, One America News Network, Bloomberg, BBC America, Discovery Channel, TLC (The Learning Channel), DirecTV, The Weather Channel, HLN, Dish TV, and CNBC.
