A cybersecurity expert said he confirmed the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s emails as Democrats and their media allies continue efforts to downplay the scandalous bombshell surrounding his abandoned laptop.
As the New York Post first reported, those emails reveal that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was at least aware of—and likely active in—his son’s foreign business dealings, which are currently under investigation by the FBI.
Robert Graham, founder of the cybersecurity firm Errata Security, has been cited by left-wing outlets like the Washington Post and Associated Press.
He was commissioned by the conservative Daily Caller News Foundation to conduct a forensic analysis of some of the emails uncovered in the trove of evidence provided by Delaware computer technician John Paul Mac Isaac.
One email that Graham looked at was sent to Hunter Biden from an executive with Burisma, a Ukrainian oil company. The executive, Vadim Pozharsky, thanked Hunter Biden in the spring of 2015 for “inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together.”
Graham said he used a cryptographic signature found in the email’s metadata to validate that Pozharsky did, in fact, send this email to Hunter Biden, the Daily Caller reported.
He also used the DomainKeys Identified Mail, or DKIM signature, within the email to verify with a private key that the sender, recipient, subject, date and body of the email were unchanged from when it was originally sent.
The only way the email was faked, Graham noted, was if someone hacked into Google’s servers, found the private key and used it to reverse-engineer the email’s DKIM signature.
“Of course, committing criminal hacking doesn’t make true information any less true, so no matter how illegitimately they gathered emails, the contents are provably legitimate,” Graham added.
Joe Biden’s presidential campaign originally denied that he had ever met with a Burisma executive based on “Biden’s official schedules from the time.”
But then Biden’s senior advisers admitted to Politico that “while there was never an official meeting, it’s technically conceivable that Pozharskyi would have approached Biden on the sidelines of some broader U.S.–Ukraine event.”
Sinclair Broadcast Group’s James Rosen broke the news on Thursday that the FBI confirmed it had been investigating Hunter Biden and his associates for money laundering since last year.
