Far-Left Va. City Declares March 10 as ‘Abortion Provider Appreciation Day’

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson declared March 10 “Abortion Provider Appreciation Day” to celebrate those who intentionally murder unborn babies, The Republican Standard reported.

Wilson, along with the Alexandria, Virginia City Council, approved a proclamation in memory of Dr. David Gunn, an abortionist who was killed by a pro-life leader.

“On March 10, 1993, Dr. David Gunn was shot and killed by a white supremacist and anti-abortion extremist, in the first known instance of the murder of an abortion provider,” Alexandria’s proclamation said.

Michael Frederick Griffin killed Gunn at the Pensacola Women’s Medical Services in Florida.

Griffin reportedly told Gunn, “Don’t kill any more babies,” before shooting him three times and then calling the police, telling them, “We need an ambulance.”

Gunn’s actions reportedly prompted 30 ministers to sign the “Defensive Action Statement,” which states that killing is justified to defend unborn life.

“We proclaim that whatever force is legitimate to defend the life of a born child is legitimate to defend the life of an unborn child,” the statement said.

Wilson celebrated the “courage” that abortionists demonstrate when they kill and extract defenseless fetuses from the womb.

Alexandria also protested against the Supreme Court‘s 6-3 Republican-appointed majority, even though it is not yet clear if the justices will quash Roe v. Wade, which created a de facto abortion right throughout the United States.

If the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, then “women and abortion providers” may be “arrested and sent to jail,” the Alexandria City Council and Mayor warned.
