The Department of Homeland Security warned on Friday that some of Donald Trump‘s supporters could become violent if the former president is not reinstated as an online theory predicts, ABC News reported.
“Some conspiracy theories associated with reinstating former President Trump have included calls for violence if desired outcomes are not realized,” a DHS office wrote in a bulletin.
The DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis bulletin, which goes to state and local law enforcement partners, could not identify any suspects or their intentions.
“As public visibility of the narratives increases, we are concerned about more calls to violence,” the bulletin said. “Reporting indicates that the timing for these activities may occur during August 2021, although we lack information on specific plots or planned actions.”
One DHS official said the conversations have moved from “conspiracy and extremist online communities” to “web forums, or more public web forums, and even within the sort of media ecosystem.”
President Joe Biden could quell the mounting frustration with the fraud-stained 2020 presidential election by calling for battleground states and localities to conduct a full forensic audit of their results.
Instead, Biden, the Justice Department, and state and local officials continue to threaten and demean the almost half of the nation that believes widespread fraud altered the 2020 election’s results.
Despite not wanting to “overreact,” the DHS “does not have the luxury of waiting till we uncover information with the level of specificity, regarding a potential location and the time of an attack,” an official ominously stated.
“Past circumstances have illustrated that calls for violence could expand rapidly in the public domain and may be occurring outside of publicly available channels,” the bulletin said. “As such, lone offenders and small groups of individuals could mobilize to violence with little-to-no warning.”
