(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Despite a red wave that turned into more of a ripple, President Joe Biden and his leftist cronies suffered a number of major defeats in New York state, which has Democrats worried, MSN reported.
Even in victory, the Democrats’s Big Apple performance reeked of defeat. In the traditionally deep blue state, incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul scraped by with a mere 6-point victory over Republican challenger Lee Zeldin.
Zeldin, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, gained 47% of the popular vote in the state. Republicans also won all four seats open on Long Island.
Many have blamed the crime wave in the state for the Democrats’s problems, and Hochul did nothing to address the problem. Along with Hochul’s underperformance, Sean Patrick Maloney, the head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, lost his House seat.
And just as the drama has unfolded, New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, threw a tantrum about the direction of her state, right on cue.
NYS Dem party leadership, which was gutted under Cuomo, stuffed with lobbyists, works to boost GOP, and failed to pass a basic state ballot measure to protect NY redistricting, must be accountable.
I called for Jay Jacob’s resignation a year ago and I still hold that position. https://t.co/WM6BJUw4do

“NYS Dem party leadership, which was gutted under Cuomo, stuffed with lobbyists, works to boost GOP, and failed to pass a basic state ballot measure to protect NY redistricting, must be accountable,” AOC tweeted.
“I called for Jay Jacob’s resignation a year ago and I still hold that position,” she added, alluding to the current Chair of the New York State Democratic Committee.
Others shared that sentiment, decrying a lost opportunity in the midterms for New York Democrats.
“A good night could have been a great night if NY Dems hadn’t screwed up redistricting and ignored voter concerns about crime and disorder,” tweeted Howard Wolfson, former NYC deputy mayor.
“These mistakes cost House Dems winnable seats and forced Dems to waste $ millions that could have gone elsewhere. Time to course correct.”
“The finger-pointing on the House losses in NY is at a fever pitch,” a New York Democrat source told Axios.
“All blame on state senate Dems for screwing up the lines given Hochul’s healthy margin. Could cost the Dems the U.S. House in the end … unreal.”
