(Preston Parra, Headline USA) Fresh off glowing praise from popular podcaster Joe Rogan and an encouraging nod from Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis seems to be weighing the idea of running for president.
After endorsements and support were made for his run not only by Rogan, but also by Elon Musk, and more, the widely-successful governor appears to be making the moves necessary to launch a campaign.
Former Fox News host and current host for Real America’s Voice, Ed Henry said that after speaking to a prominent conservative donor, he believes DeSantis is seriously considering the run.
Henry commented that a big-money donor contact said that DeSantis told him to “hold onto his money,” insinuating that shouldn’t make a total investment into the presumptive nominee for the 2024 Republican ticket, Donald J. Trump.
Polls place DeSantis in a very close second place to the former president.
Many supporters of both men believe that Trump should be the nominee in the 2024 elections because of his ability to gain support among many demographics of voters; however, if given a chance, DeSantis could very well pull the same, as he has proven widely popular as governor.
A big moving piece to this puzzle will be legislative support for the nominee.
Due to the fact that Trump handed out endorsements like candy, and most of them so far have ended in victory for the candidate, he will most likely earn their support if he decides to throw his name into the upcoming 2024 election.
The support of legislators across the country is a significant cog in a winning campaign. Instead of having to visit so many regions personally, legislators can bring support for a presidential candidate by sticking their own neck and support out for them.
Without question, the Republican party is gearing up for a very interesting primary election, and with several assumed-candidates still unsure of their plans, voters are left to speculate.
