Dems. Suddenly Concerned about SCOTUS Leaks

'The allegation that the Wrights were told the outcome of the decision in the Hobby Lobby case ... by me or my wife is completely false... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Congressional Democrats are demanding that the Supreme Court respond to allegations as to whether or not Justice Samuel Alito leaked the decision of a 2014 case to conservatives.

The case in question is the infamous Hobby Lobby case, in which it was decided that the family-oriented business was free from the obligation to provide contraception to its employees, especially in the wake of the Affordable Care Act, Fox News reported.

The Democrats’ have made a hard 180-degree turn on the issue in recent weeks, suggesting that Alito has taken advantage of “inexcusable Supreme Court loophole in ethics rules.”

That’s in sharp contrast to Democrats’s collective shrug at finding the person responsible for leaking the Supreme Court’s Roe decision, which led to massive protests by abortion activists, many of which turned violent, and multiple attacks on pro-life centers and churches.

Alito has denied alll accusations, especially those against his family–his wife in particular.

“The allegation that the Wrights were told the outcome of the decision in the Hobby Lobby case, or the authorship of the opinion of the Court, by me or my wife is completely false,” Alito said.

“My wife and I became acquainted with the Wrights some years ago because of their strong support for the Supreme Court Historical Society, and since then, we have had a casual and purely social relationship.”

Despite Alito’s denial, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., demanded that Chief Justice John Roberts provide more details regarding the allegations.

In the letter, Whitehouse and Johnson expressed concern about the lack of “ethical and legal guardrails” to guide the Supreme Court justices.

“Recent reporting by the New York Times that the orchestrators of this judicial lobbying campaign may have used their access to certain justices to secure confidential information about pending cases only deepens our concerns about the lack of adequate ethical and legal guardrails at the Court,” Johnson and Whitehouse wrote.

They also suggested that Roberts has long known of the allegations, but has failed so far to respond.

“Moreover, it appears that the Court was alerted to these allegations as early as July 2022, when Chief Justice Roberts received a letter from the former leader of this lobbying operation,” they added.

They want Roberts to open an investigation into Alito’s alleged actions, if he has not done so already.
