(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In a shocking incident that has left residents in disbelief and horror, three refugees residing in New York allegedly killed and devoured a cherished swan, which had become a beloved symbol of the town.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, law enforcement officials in Manlius, New York, had reported the disappearance of the popular swan, affectionately nicknamed “Faye,” and her four cygnets from a local pond last Monday. This led concerned residents to launch their own investigations into the fate of the animals.
Several tips eventually led to the apprehension of 18-year-old Eman Hussan and two minors, aged 16 and 17, by the Manlius police. The alleged perpetrators now face charges of felony grand larceny and criminal mischief.
Faye, who had become a fixture in the lake, was brutally abducted by the three refugees. Law enforcement authorities revealed that the perpetrators succeeded in capturing Faye because she was nesting and unable to fight back. Faye’s baby cygnets who were subjected to this savage act were fortunately recovered by the police, as shared by Manlius Police Sgt. Ken Hatter.
“I just don’t know how if you were from the area you wouldn’t see the fences or the ‘no fishing’ signage,” a disturbed Hatter told the Free Beacon.
“The Village of Manlius is one of the only entities in New York that has a permit to have them housed, maintained, owned, and transport, and they cannot be removed from their location legally,” Hatter told News 3, which also reported that hunting swans is prohibited in New York.
Unfortunately, Faye’s harrowing abduction and subsequent demise do not appear to be isolated incidents. Two alleged illegal aliens in Nebraska recently killed a bald eagle with the intention of consuming it.
“This is not ending. We will continue to have swans,” declared Manlius Mayor Paul Whorrall said during a press conference held shortly after the swans were reported missing. “We’ll let the four cygnets grow up and at that point, we are hoping that two of those cygnets will mate and we will be back to the way it used to be.”
Hassan and the two minors were released to their parents but could potentially face deportation if found guilty. A “Justice for Faye” petition has garnered over 10,000 signatures, demanding the highest penalties for the alleged perpetrators.
“This was a heinous act by kids who don’t have or never have had discipline,” one signatory wrote, according to the Free Beacon. “Something has got to be done or this will continue to play out in our society.”
A second resident added, “These inhumane degenerates need to face real consequences.”
