(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The leftist California government will be paying college students $22 an hour — almost $7 above the state’s minimum wage — for 450 hours of pushing the notion that the planet is going to melt.
If students want to become climate change activists, #CaliforniansForAll College Corps — the organization that is under the jurisdiction of California Volunteers which is affiliated with and appointed by the Governor’s Office — will be glad to pay $10,000 from the taxpayers’ pockets to each student, according to Campus Reform.
Even though recent green energy policies have left California and many of the state’s universities without power, the leftist state government still pushes for climate change activism.
California’s College Corps program applies to 3,200 “low-income” students from 46 universities in California. Of those students, there are 500 illegal aliens that are called “dreamers,” whose education is paid for by taxpayers once again. Campus Reform said that over 500,000 college students in the state “are delinquent or in default of their student loans.”
A program brochure broke down students into different categories for their paid activist chores. Half of them will indoctrinate minors who do not already attend one of the state’s indoctrination centers — also known as “tutors or mentors in K-12 education.” Nearly 30% of students will “address food insecurity” and 22% will be “taking climate action.” The brochure also boasted that 80% of those students are “students of color.”
Campus Reform contacted California Volunteers Chief Communications and External Affairs Officer Cristian Valdivia to clarify what the organization meant when it used the Orwellian phrase “taking climate action.” Valdivia said that “climate actions include wildfire mitigation (ie: home hardening), energy conservation, urban greening (ie: tree planting and community gardens), waste diversion, food rescue and environmental education.”
The 450 hours of climate change alarmism must be completed throughout the academic year to get paid. Valdivia said that “the goal of this service and professional development program is to reduce the cost of college, providing a debt-free pathway,” because student loan debt reaches a record high right now.
The woke nonsense that students will push down regular people’s throats will be sponsored by taxes paid by the same regular people.
California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom supports the initiative, saying that it makes him “more proud… than anything” else that he has “accomplished” while being in office.
