(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) John Kerry, the Biden administration’s so-called special presidential envoy for climate, will be flying commercially instead of using his private jet when traveling to Egypt for the 2022 United Nations Climate Chance Conference.
After facing intense backlash for his contradictory pushing of climate policy while still traversing the globe on his family’s private jet, Kerry will be flying to Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on a commercial flight, the Post Millennial reported.
Long-time member of the Democrat party, Kerry served as a Senator for the state of Massachusetts for almost three decades, was former president Barack Obama’s secretary of state and now acts as a climate alarmist for the Biden administration.
His jet has made a total of 48 trips lasting for more than 60 hours, resulting in the emission of 715,886 pounds of carbon since President Biden stepped into the Oval Office.
When Kerry’s jet was first discovered, Republicans pointed out the obvious contradiction and called it “insulting.”
“Joe Biden launched his war on American energy on his first day in office, shutting down domestic energy production and making us reliant on our enemies,” said Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo.
“But while Americans are struggling to afford gas and being lectured about ‘transitioning’ their energy use, Biden’s cabinet is jetting around the world wasting the same fossil fuels they say they want to ban,” he continued. “Americans can see the hypocrisy and it’s insulting.”
Judicial Watch, a conservative government watchdog group, recently filed a Freedom of Information Act request against the State Department requesting details on Kerry’s travel.
The group suspects Kerry is hiding his flying records in an effort to avoid criticism.
“People like John Kerry and these Hollywood types who use private jets to fly to climate change conferences… in a way that probably promotes more carbon distribution than anything else they’re complaining about,” said Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch president.
Despite being spotted on commercial flights, records still show that Kerry owns his private jet, which burns nearly 40 times as much carbon per passenger as commercial flights.
