California Considering Reparations, Segregated Schools for Black Citizens

(Chris Parker, Headline USA) A new interim report released by the state of California recommends reparations and segregated schools for black residents, laying a huge financial burden on taxpayers to help alleviate collective Leftist guilt.

The report was released by California’s Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans, a panel formed by Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom’s signing of AB 3121 into law, reported Breitbart. That law requires California to provide “administrative, technical, and legal assistance to the Task Force” at taxpayer expense.

The report cites several conspiracy theories in reaching its conclusions and recommendations, including, “American government at all levels, including in California, has historically criminalized African Americans for the purposes of social control, and to maintain an economy based on exploited Black labor.”

The executive summary also made the claim that “In 2019, America is as segregated as it was in the 1940s,” during which time whites and blacks were required by law in some states to use segregated buildings and facilities.

In response, the task force calls for taxpayers to fund “African American/American Freedmen owned and controlled K-12 schools, colleges and universities, trade and professional schools.”

It also seeks to impede the curriculum of private schools in an effort to “advance the timeline for ethnic studies classes in public and private high schools.”

The panel’s recommendations also extend beyond reparations and education. One recommendation listed in the executive summary is to “Introduce climate change mitigation and adaptive capacity strategies and measures (e g , cooling centers, increasing greenspaces that reduce urban heat island effects and air pollutant concentrations).

This measure comes at a time when the left is increasingly blaming climate change on racism.

In order to implement the report’s recommendations, California would likely need to ratify its state Constitution since it currently “prohibits discrimination by the state on the basis of race.”

A final report is expected by July 1, 2023. It is not yet clear which recommendations will be signed into law.
