(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A transgender shop teacher who was let go after donning a set of prosthetic, Z-cup breasts in class last year has been hired at another school in Ontario, Canada, the Daily Mail reported.
The transgender educator, Kayla Lemieux, will be teaching at Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School, where administrators recently warned students and parents that there may be disruptions and protests due to Lemieux’s presence.
The announcement was made in a recent memo penned by Principal Tom Fisher, who noted that Lemieux’s “gender expression” has become “the subject of public attention.”
His policy of reinstating Lemiuex, he stated, was meant to “uphold individual rights and treat everyone with dignity and respect.”
He also recognized the influx of media attention that would likely descend upon the school, noting that the school will remain vigilant in the case of any “disruptions or protests.”
“We are committed to communicating with you as openly and as frequently as possible to ensure student safety—and to share any operational plans.”
Part of Fisher’s response plan includes student evacuation, wherein the children will be required to “enter and exit the building using assigned doors at entry and dismissal,” being instructed by “an intercom system.”
Lemieux’s appearance and attire were the source of protests in the past after video of the shop teacher cutting a wooden board with a table saw while donning the prosthesis first went viral.
At Lemieux’s previous school, Oakville Trafalgar High School, parents flooded a school board meeting demanding that Lemieux be forced to follow the dress code.
Soon thereafter, the teacher was suspended from Oakville’s faculty.
Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School, however, is governed by the same school board as Oakville, so the board’s members surely knew what they were getting into.
