Black Man Who Assaulted, Punched Asian Woman 125 Times Charged w/ Hate Crime

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) A huge black man from Yonkers, New York, ambushed a small elderly Asian woman and viciously beat her, leading authorities to charge him with two hate crimes.

The Yonkers Police Department arrested Tammel Esco, 42, after the attack on March 11 and charged him with two felonies: attempted murder as a hate crime and assault as a hate crime, according to the Gateway Pundit.

“Hate crimes are beyond intolerable in our city,” Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano said. “I applaud our Yonkers Police for swiftly apprehending this violent criminal and removing him from our streets. I expect the suspect to be charged to the fullest extent of the law for his heinous actions.”

As the woman entered the apartment, she walked past Esco, who called her an “Asian b****.”

Esco attacked the 67-year-old woman from behind as she entered her apartment, and then he proceeded to punch her head and face 125 times, stomp on her seven times, and repeatedly spit on her.

The apartment’s security camera footage captured the graphic and disturbing assault.

The woman suffered grave injuries, including brain bleeding, facial bone fractures, facial bruises, and deep facial wounds, but she is in stable condition and expected to fully recover.

“This is one of the most appalling attacks I have ever seen; to beat a helpless woman is despicable and targeting her because of her race makes it more so,” Yonkers Commissioner John J. Mueller said.

“This defendant must be held to the maximum punishment allowed by law to send a clear message that hateful, violent behavior will not be tolerated in our communities.”

Esco awaits trial in the Westchester County Jail. The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office will begin the prosecution on March 25.
