Ariz. Gov. Hobbs Mocks Constitution during Oath Swearing, Bans Media from Event

'This is the behavior of a mentally unstable person who knows she’s illegitimate... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USAArizona’s alleged new governor, Democrat Katie Hobbs, broke into laughter at the notion of upholding the Constitution during her swearing-in ceremony Tuesday, an event to which the consistently opaque Hobbs banned the media.

Hobbs, in her continued efforts to hide from the public, has also refused to disclose how much donors or corporations paid footing the bill for an extravagant celebratory ball to mark her ascension to the governor’s office, according to the Arizona Daily Star. Those unknown donors include “special interests, including lobbyists, companies that do business with the state, developers and builders. But the new administration, while listing official ‘sponsors’ for the event, has been unwilling to share how much each is paying for that privilege.”

Media is banned from Hobbs’s posh celebratory gala, similar to how reporters were barred from her swearing-in ceremony, where she drew intense criticism not only for kicking the press to the curb, but also for openly deriding the Constitution during her oath of office.

The lashing included a jab from Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, who allegedly lost to Hobbs by less than 17,000 votes in a deeply flawed election that is currently being litigated.

“During her swearing-in ceremony, @katiehobbs laughed and giggled throughout what was supposed to be a dignified process, and refused to say that she would support our constitution,” Lake tweeted at her campaign’s War Room account. “Everyone enjoy your Banana Republic. And pray that a brave judge puts an end to this charade.”

While Hobbs claimed she became emotionally overwhelmed during the ceremony, critics said the issue was more serious than a simple gaffe.

“This is the behavior of a mentally unstable person who knows she’s illegitimate,” tweeted political podcaster Monica Crowley.

As Lake’s election-challenge litigation weaves its way through the courts on appeal, other Republicans vowed to also keep up the fight. The resolve was redoubled after Hobbs’s disgraceful inauguration and public blackout from the event.

“This is one of the darkest moments in the history of Arizona. An illegitimate ‘Governor’ laughing in the face of our constitution,” warned the Kari Lake war Room. “But it’s always darkest before the dawn.

“We will expose this fraud for the world to see. Justice is coming. @katiehobbs won’t be laughing then.”
