Alec Baldwin Compares ‘Rust’ Shooting to J6, Still Hasn’t Given His Phone to Law Enforcement

'In a bizarre rant Alec Baldwin just compared his shooting of his cinematographer to Jan 6 and seemed to blame both on ‘right wing hate’ ... '

(Headline USA) Alec Baldwin is still refusing to hand over his phone to authorities despite his claims that he is cooperating with the investigation into the fatal “Rust” shooting.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed this week that they are still trying to get ahold of Baldwin’s phone. Authorities said they need his phone to learn more about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, in which Baldwin fatally shot one person and wounded another with a gun containing a live round.

“To date, the cellphone has not been turned over to authorities,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

In December, a judge granted a request for a search warrant to allow authorities to look for text messages, videos, or calls on the device related to the shooting. Shortly after, Baldwin was seen in New York being pulled over.

“Affiant believes there may be evidence on the phone, due to individuals using cellular phones during and/or after the commission of crime(s),” New Mexico detectives said in their request for the warrant. “Affiant was also made aware there were several emails and text messages sent and received regarding the movie production ‘Rust’ in the course of interviews.”

Earlier this month, Baldwin claimed in an Instagram video that allegations he has not been complying with authorities were “bulls***.”

“The only way we can honor the death of Helena Hutchins is to find out the truth,” Baldwin said.

“That’s what I’m working toward, insisting on, demanding that the organizations involved in this investigation do everything in their power to find out what really happened,” Baldwin said. “That’s all that matters.”

He also bizarrely suggested the “Rust” shooting was similar to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
