Speculation Grows that Trump May Bow Out of 2024 Race

'You look like you’re in good health, but tomorrow, you get a letter from a doctor saying come see me again... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump has admitted that he may not run for president in 2024.

A headline from the Daily Mail reads “Trump, 75, admits his health could stop him from running for president in 2024 and says [Former Vice President Mike] Pence, [Florida Governor Ron] DeSantis and [Former Secretary of State] Mike Pompeo would NOT oppose him in a Republican primary.”

The headline, put together with quotes from an interview with the Washington Post, make the picture a bit clearer. Regarding his health, Trump said the following:

‘You always have to talk about health,” he said.

“You look like you’re in good health, but tomorrow, you get a letter from a doctor saying come see me again. That’s not good when they use the word again.”

Trump also explained the aforementioned potential nominees may not want to run against him out of loyalty.

“If I ran, I can’t imagine they’d want to run. Some out of loyalty would have had a hard time running,” he explained. “I think that most of those people, and almost every name you mentioned, is there because of me.’”

Later in the interview, Trump repeated his feelings on running.

“I don’t want to comment on running, but I think a lot of people are going to be very happy by my decision… because it’s a little boring now.”

Trump’s statements on other potential candidates may not be completely true.

Appearing on Fox New’s “Hannity,” Pompeo hinted he may or may not run, but his decision will not be dependent on Trump’s candidacy.

Pompeo’s new book, speaking schedule and fundraising schedule also suggest he is gearing up for a campaign. It also appears as if Pence is setting up for a campaign with the release of his “Freedom Agenda.”

Both candidates have raised millions of dollars and appear to be gearing up for long, tough campaigns.

DeSantis has not signaled he is planning for a run, but he has certainly raised a lot of money and polls show that he is more popular than both Pence and Pompeo.
