At Least 40 Capitol Police Probed for Letting In Rioters—But Who Directed Them?

'The Speaker is responsible for all operational decisions made within the House...'

As the world awaits the formation of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s 9/11-style blue-ribbon commission to study the events surrounding the Jan. 6 uprising at the US Capitol, a new issue loomed on the horizon for the Democrat/media-driven false narrative.

At least five Capitol Police officers have been suspended and 35 more under investigation amid claims that they willingly let in members of the crowd, even opening a gate to grant access to hundreds of protesters prior to the siege, the Gateway Pundit reported.

Lol this is gonna make things interesting….

“Our Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating the actions of 35 police officers from that day,” a spokesperson told Fox 5 in a statement.

“We currently have suspended six of those officers with pay,” the statement continued. “Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman has directed that any member of her department whose behavior is not in keeping with the Department’s Rules of Conduct will face appropriate discipline.”

The internal probe comes as questions grow over what Pelosi may have known in advance concerning the threat and why Democrat lawmakers rebuffed the overtures for beefed-up security, including Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser‘s refusal for additional National Guard troops.

Some speculate that the Democrats’ criticism of President Donald Trump’s use of military force during an earlier riot near the White House may have forced their hand in maintaining the anti-police stance.

However, they quickly pivoted to becoming the NEW party of law and order as soon as the opportunity presented itself in the wake of the protest.

That included dispatching 25,000 National Guardsmen to the US capital city, many of whom will remain there through at least March.

The tight-lipped aspects of any future probes are likely to become more so, particularly if the truth is damaging to Democrats—and that dearth of information will, in turn, fuel even more conspiracy theories about what they are not telling the public.

It was widely reported that during the 2017 riot in Charlottesville, Va., then Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, and other leftist city officials directed the police force to stand down and allow violent clashes between Antifa and far-right extremists.

Doing so, they hoped, would make it easier to designate the gathering as an unlawful assembly and shut down the protest, for which right-wing organizers had been given a legal permit.

Likewise, Portland, Ore., Mayor Ted Wheeler and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan last year tacitly encouraged violence during the left-driven riots in their cities, likewise telling local police to stand down as the burden—and negative focus—shifted to federal troops.

Because the US Capitol Police ultimately answer to Pelosi, such an order telling them to stand down may well have come from her—although the motive behind it remains unclear.

“The Speaker is responsible for all operational decisions made within the House,” Republican Reps. Jim Jordan, Rodney Davis, James Comer and Devin Nunes wrote in a letter to Pelosi on Monday that asked her to be more transparent and forthcoming regarding the pre-siege chain of command.
