The Center for Immigration Studies estimates that illegal aliens will receive $4.38 billion in stimulus benefits, despite repeated promises that only citizens would receive the direct payments.
The 2021 American Rescue Plan Act, falsely billed as a “COVID relief” package, spent $1.9 trillion on blue-state bailouts, payouts to green corporate interests, and $1,400 checks to 2.1 million illegal aliens who have fraudulently obtained Social Security numbers, CIS reported.
These 2.1 million illegal aliens also have 1.1 million dependent children, for which Congress will pay them an additional $600 each.
“There is simply no question that millions of illegal immigrants will receive billions of dollars in Covid relief checks,” said Steven Camarota, the Center’s director of research and the study’s author.
“This highlights an even more disturbing fact—illegal immigrants are being issued Social Security numbers in large numbers,” he said. “This is a clear indication that America is simply not serious about enforcing its immigration laws.”
Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., incorrectly stated last week that illegal aliens could not receive the transfer payments.
“Undocumented immigrants do not have Social Security numbers, and they do not qualify for stimulus relief checks,” he said.
Camarota found that 653,000 illegal aliens have acquired Social Security cards through their participation in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
The federal government has granted another 410,000 illegal aliens Temporary Protected Status, which gives them a work authorization and Social Security number.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services gave another 882,000 work authorizations and and Social Security cards to various other protected groups of illegal aliens.
The Social Security Administration estimates that 700,000 illegal aliens use fraudulent Social Security numbers.
This brings the total number of illegal aliens with access to Social Security numbers to 2.65 million.
Camarota then concluded that 2.1 million of these illegal aliens have incomes that would qualify them for the payments.
