(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) American and Canadian biologists urged the scientific community to stop recognizing biological sex, including so-called “binary terms” such as “male and “female,” “man” and “woman” and “mother” and “father.”
The woke Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Language Project decided to abolish the “colonialist” mindset of Western scientists by breaking down the English language because some snowflakes may think that it is offensive, according to the Post Millennial.
Instead of the terms “male” and “female,” the research group wants people to use terms that would never be considered offensive to people: “sperm-producing” and “egg-producing.” The “researchers” think that going along with the Orwellian narrative will help to avoid reenforcing “heteronormative views.” The terms “father” and “mother” should also be replaced with “parent,” “egg donor” and “sperm donor”.
“Amid a growing disciplinary commitment to inclusion in ecology and evolutionary biology (EEB), it is critical to consider how the use of scientific language can harm members of our research community,” the mission written on the group’s website stated.
“To unite those of us working to revise harmful terminology in EEB, we introduce our grassroots, collective initiative called ‘The EEB Language Project.'”
Some of the project’s members who come from “prestigious” universities like Harvard, Princeton and the University of California system collaborated and wrote a paper in the journal Trends in Ecology and Evolution where they once again showcased their political ideology.
“Much of western science is rooted in colonialism, white supremacy and patriarchy, and these power structures continue to permeate our scientific culture.”
In the abstract of the Feb. 6 paper, the “scientists” wrote that this leftist effort is “particularly important for redressing the ongoing marginalization of many groups in EEB, including Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities; and disabled communities; among others.”
The Orwellian attempts to redefine language drew backlash from more rational minds in the scientific field.
“I think that when you characterize terms like male/female, mother/father as harmful you are abandoning science for ideological advocacy,” professor Frank Furedi of the University of Kent told the Daily Telegraph.
“Regardless of intent, the project of re-engineering language will cause confusion to many and the last thing that scientists need is a lack of clarity about the meaning of the words they use.”
