(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Retired General Michael Hayden, the former CIA and NSA director who suggested on Aug. 17 that “today’s Republicans” are the most “dangerous and contemptible” force in the world, has been exposed as a leftist activist.
Hayden, who led the the CIA from 2006-2009 and the NSA from 1999-2005, currently works as an advisor to NewsGuard, a company that purports to track and log alleged disinformation on the Internet, reported The Federalist.
According to an FAQ on its site, NewsGuard is the designer of “a tool that shows you trust ratings for more than 7,500 news and information websites as you browse the internet.”
The tool is based on the the work of a team of leftist journalists who “assess the credibility and transparency of news and information websites based on nine [“apolitical”] journalistic criteria.”
With all its deep state connections, NewsGuard’s app has found its way into the nation’s public schools via Randi Weingarten’s teachers’ union.
I'm really excited about this partnership with Newsguard. Students across the country will have access to this tool to help them identify misinformation. https://t.co/pwsfREiIyN

“The American Federation of Teachers has launched a national partnership with a leading anti-misinformation tool NewsGuard to protect and champion legitimate journalism and fact-based reporting and to help educators and their students navigate a sea of online disinformation,” the union wrote in a press release.
Last week, Gen. Hayden published a quote tweet in which used his authority as a former director of the CIA to affirm the Financial Times‘ Edward Luce’s claim that he had “never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans.”
I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career. Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.

“I agree,” Hayden responded. “And I was CIA Director.”
I agree. And I was the CIA Director https://t.co/LRAHDDyy4n

Several prestigious accounts pounced on Hayden’s tweet as evidence of the partisan deep state’s incestuous relationship with the corporate media.
“More proof of how partisan the deep state and media have become,” wrote Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.

Former Rolling Stone reporter Matt Taibbi wondered aloud whether Hayden really believed Republicans are more dangerous than ISIS or al Qaeda.
So “today’s Republicans” are more dangerous than ISIS, Al-Qaeda, etc? Given that you used drones to assassinate members of the latter groups, do you think that’s indicated here? https://t.co/3BTL1sDFJ0
