Fellow Leftists Slam CNN’s Van Jones or Admitting Trump Has Benefited Black Americans

'There's a side to Donald Trump that I think he does not get enough credit for...'

Former Barack Obama adviser Van Jones, currently a CNN analyst, was blasted this weekend for admitting that President Donald Trump has done a lot of good work for the African–American community.

During a segment with CNN host Jake Tapper on Friday, Jones was asked about Trump’s claim that he’s “done more for the black community than any other president.”

Jones argued that on certain policies, Trump has delivered.

“Donald Trump—and I get beat up by liberals every time I say this, but I’m gonna keep saying it—he has done good stuff for the black community,” Jones said.

“Opportunity zone stuff, black college stuff. I worked with him on criminal justice stuff,” Jones continued. “I saw Donald Trump have African American people, formerly incarcerated, in the White House—embraced them, treated them well. There’s a side to Donald Trump that I think he does not get enough credit for.”

Liberals immediately attacked Jones for “selling out.”

Jones previously praised Trump’s efforts on criminal-justice reform following the historic passage of the bipartisan bill in December 2018.

He also warned earlier this summer that Trump’s record on criminal justice reform and his economic policies would be “effective” among black voters.

“What [Trump] is saying to African Americans can be effective,” Jones argued.
