(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Department of Justice under President Joe Biden is facing a raging inferno of criticism from Republicans who accuse it of weaponizing the federal government to indict former President Donald Trump over the alleged mishandling of classified documents.
Conservatives blasted the DOJ’s actions and said they highlight a stunning double standard in the application of the rule of law, as high-profile Democrats like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden escaped federal indictments over their potential misdeeds.
Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, expressed his concerns, stating, “The lawless tyrants at the DOJ will now be indicting retired Navy Senior Chief Walt Nauta. All because he won’t LIE about President Trump. They’re not just after Trump, THEY’RE AFTER ALL OF US! The DOJ and FBI are nothing more than traitors and enemies of the state at this point!”
Podcast host Matt Walsh, known for the What Is a Woman? documentary, slammed Biden for indicting his top political rival while engaging in similar actions himself. Walsh referred to the developments as “[f]ull on banana republic stuff” and an “absolute disgrace.”
Political commentator Tim Young echoed Walsh’s sentiment, emphasizing the fact that Biden kept classified documents in his garage but Trump was the one facing indictment. Young also concluded that this situation resembled living in a “banana republic.”
In response to Trump’s indictment, Clinton took to Twitter to sell hats with the caption “BUT HER EMAILS.” However, Clinton was met with heavy criticism from conservatives who accused the DOJ of protecting her despite an infamous history and handling of classified documents. Prominent podcast host Ben Shapiro responded to Clinton’s tweet, saying, “Yes, we do see the double standard, thanks so much for the reminder!”
Shapiro also noted that DOJ would have never charged Clinton, referring to former FBI Director James Comey’s decision in 2016 regarding her mishandling of the documents.
“Comey made this bed in 2016 when he decided that willfully mishandling classified information — and leaving it open to possible exposure to hostile actors — was not prosecutable,” Shapiro said on Friday. “You can’t now reverse that standard as soon as the name on the indictment is Trump.”

Conservatives also called out the DOJ’s handling of Hunter Biden’s alleged criminal behavior. Former radio host John Cardillo said that “Garland and Wray should be in handcuffs.” Cardillo added, “Joe and Hunter Biden should spend the rest of their lives in prison.”
Kyle Becker, CEO of Becker News, echoed the sentiment, calling for the arrest of Hunter, Joe Biden and Clinton. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., weighed in, questioning the DOJ’s actions regarding Hunter’s laptop scandal, saying, “The same folks that are feverishly going after Trump have had Hunter Biden’s revolting laptop for years and years… NO ARREST YET! What am I missing here?”
