(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In a new interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo, former President Donald Trump launched a scathing verbal assault against President Joe Biden, criticizing his handling of economic relationships with China and questioning his competence as the leader of the United States.
Addressing the economic ties with China, Bartiromo asked Trump on Sunday, “Would you be prepared to attack the economic relationship that we have with China? […] Would you put limits in place in terms of what Americans can buy?”
In response, Trump asserted, “So I did something better. I did tremendous tariffs. We took in hundreds of billions of dollars—tariffs and taxes. So when China, which was just dumping everything into our country, they were dumping steel at a level that was going to put our steel mills out of business, which is what they wanted.”
Trump touted the praises he received from the industries China was targeting. “If you go to any steel manufacturer, anybody, they’re going to say, ‘Trump was the greatest president.’ I saved the steel industry. We were dead and I taxed a 50% tax on dumping steel, and then they started sending it through and we caught them and they started sending it through Canada.”
The former president, who is now running for the GOP nomination for the 2024 presidency, warned of the dire consequences of a potential world war.
“This is the most dangerous time in the history of our country because of weaponry. The nuclear power is so enormous. This isn’t two army tanks going and shooting each other in World War I, World War II […] This is obliviation,” Trump warned. “And we have a man that doesn’t understand what’s he’s doing. We have a man that yesterday stood up and told the whole world we have no ammunition.”
Trump continued to express his concerns about national security, particularly regarding ammunition supplies. Bartiromo inquired, “How dangerous is this, that we’re low on ammunition?”
To this, Trump responded passionately. “He has told China and these other places that are hostile that we have no ammunition, by the way, you talk about classified documents, that’s worse than any document you could give,” Trump said of Biden’s now-viral admission.
Trump continued his fiery rebuke of Biden saying, “So now these people are sitting back in China and other places that hate us, including North Korea, where I had a very good relationship with Kim Jong-un and kept our country save, they’re talking about the United States of America has no ammunition. Think of it. How stupid can somebody be to say that?”
