(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Video footage has been recovered of a Drag Queen Story Hour event last October during which a drag queen flashed an entire group of young children at length, the Post Millennial reported.
The event took place at one of Hennepin County’s libraries in Minnesota last October.
It was allegedly scheduled in order to promote “self-expression, dress-up, and gender fluidity through stories, rhymes, music and movement with drag performers” from the greater area.
The event in question was the performance of “non-binary transgender” Sasha Sota, who performed in front of a group of children last year on Oct. 17.
A photo from the event—a censored version of which was displayed at the Post Millennial— showed Sota’s genitals, which were entirely exposed under the dress except for a pair of see-through pantyhose.
The male genatilia were visible presumably to the entirety of the class based upon the photo.
When asked about the event, Maria Baca, a communications specialist for Hennepin County, said that the Drag Queen Story Hours were a new addition to the library’s agenda.
The drag queens, however, are “unfortunately making mistakes.”
According to Baca, there is no way to account for the problems because it is all a matter of self-expression.
“Every performance is different,” said Baca of the story hours taking place throughout the county. “That allows for a new show every day, but also introduces the possibility of new mistakes.”
The problems with the sexualized performances became so significant that the library felt the need to implement a policy about wearing appropriate costumes.
“Partway through this year’s schedule, we realized the need for a performer dress code,” Baca said. “We followed up right away with each of the performers to ensure that their costumes are appropriate for the audience and activity.”
Many parents were outraged about the displays, especially regarding the fact that our libraries are publicly funded institutions which use tax money for partisan purposes.
“This is insanity and should not be allowed,” said one comment on the photo, which was originally posted to Instagram but later removed. “Come on parents, what are you waiting for?”
The news from Minneapolis came as reports showed New York City had spent more than $200,000 in tax funds to allow schools and other child-centered venues to host the shows.
