(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) California leftist congressman Rep. Eric Swalwell has announced that parental involvement in education is akin to patients wanting to be in charge of their own surgical procedures.
Swallwell made the comment in response to Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., who issued the innocuous statement that Republicans were planning to put “parents back in charge of their kids’ education,” reported Just the News.
In response, Swalwell said that parents should shut up and let the experts in government indoctrination take care of business.
Please tell me what I’m missing here. What are we doing next? Putting patients in charge of their own surgeries? Clients in charge of their own trials? When did we stop trusting experts. This is so stupid. pic.twitter.com/VZRMZpp234

“Please tell me what I’m missing here. What are we doing next? Putting patients in charge of their own surgeries? Clients in charge of their own trials? When did we stop trusting experts. … This is so stupid.”
Scott’s spokeswoman Caroline Anderegg responded to Swalwell’s absurd tweet, noting that for Republicans, parents retain the right to raise their children, and not the whims of D.C. leftists and university elites.
“Republicans to parents: You know what’s best for your kid. You should be in charge. Democrats to parents: ‘Experts’ know what’s best for your kid. If you don’t agree then you’re stupid,” she said.
Many on the Right mocked Swalwell for his absurd hot take.
“They think they own your kids,” school choice advocate Corey DeAngelis wrote.
“Excellent messaging,” author Chad Felix Greene said ironically. “Run with this.”
Abigail Shrier, author of Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, also chimed in on the debate.
“‘Experts’ who taught our kids to hate their white classmates and hate their own bodies? Who engaged in school-wide conspiracies to secretly change our kids’ names and gender identities? Who shut down in-person learning for two years? Tell us more about the ‘experts’ you trust,” she said.
