Race-Obsessed Regime Pressures WHO to Rename Monkeypox

'At this time, data suggest that gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men make up the majority of cases in the current monkeypox outbreak... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden and his woke administration have determined that the predominantly gay-transmitted monkeypox shall be renamed “MPOX”.

The Biden administration petitioned the World Health Organization to rename the disease earlier this week, presumably so that the disease would not be stigmatized, Fox News reported.

Particularly afflicted by the stigma, they argued, are people of color, which some critics have noted sounds suspiciously like Biden comparing black people, or even more specifically gay black people, to monkeys

Over the summer the WHO announced that it was interested in finding new names for the disease, and was looking for good ideas. But according to insider sources, the Biden administration insisted upon its name, and that the change be made as soon as possible.

At the time, various woke groups of scientists wished to make their unhappiness with the name known.

“In the context of the current global outbreak, continued reference to, and nomenclature of this virus being African is not only inaccurate but is also discriminatory and stigmatizing,” a group of scientists wrote in a joint statement.

The WHO has continued to classify the disease as a global health emergency–the highest alert level that it has, which suggests that it is a “public health emergency of international concern.”

All of this has taken place despite the fact that, in the United States, fewer than 30,000 cases have been reported.

And though the disease is famously largely restricted to gays and bisexuals, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention wished to ensure that everyone knows of the impending threat.

“At this time, data suggest that gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men make up the majority of cases in the current monkeypox outbreak,” they wrote.

“However, anyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, who has been in close, personal contact with someone who has monkeypox is at risk. Take steps to prevent getting monkeypox. If you have any symptoms of monkeypox, talk to a healthcare provider.”
