(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Leading independent pollster Robert C. Cahaly, said polls might seriously under count Republican voters after inflammatory speeches by President Joe Biden.
According to The Daily Wire, Cahaly, the chief of the Trafalgar Group, said that President Biden’s recent attacks on what he calls “MAGA Republicans” will make polling supporters of former President Donald Trump even more difficult.
Cahaly poitned out that name calling and threats from top-tier Democrats contributed to a phenomenon he called the “shy Trump voter.”
However, as the 2022 midterms approach, Biden’s inflammatory rhetoric and accusations against Trump supporters will make them even more difficult to reach in polling.
“In 2016 Trump supporters were called ‘Deplorables’ and other unflattering names,” Cahaly wrote on Twitter. “This was a major contributor to the ‘shy Trump voter’ phenomenon that ‘most’ polling missed which resulted in a major loss in public confidence for polling flowing the election.”

Cahaly continued, explaining that people who supported Trump in 2020 and expressed conservative values were “canceled” or “doxed,” leading to even more “hidden voters.”
Now, as the Biden administration accuses Republicans as being “semi-facist” and a “threat to democracy” Cahaly says this kind of voter will be more difficult to estimate.
Now that the Biden administration has essentially classified “MAGA Republicans” as a threat to democracy marshaling federal law enforcement to focus on them. This move has created a new type of voter that will be even harder to poll or even estimate.

Cahaly now calls this group “submerged voters,” saying that Biden’s open hostility toward the group will deter them from even putting stickers on their personal vehicles.
““They aren’t putting stickers on their cars, signs in their yards, posting their opinions, or even answering polls,” Cahaly concluded. “At this point I think it’s fair to say that Biden’s pursuit of and attacks on ‘MAGA Republicans’ has created an army of voters who will be virtually impossible to poll (even for us) and more difficult still to estimate.”
”The 2022 Republican turnout will likely be higher than any of the polls or models are showing,” he concluded. “All polls (including ours) will understate the impact of these ‘submerged voters.’”
