(Joshua Paladino, Liberty Headlines) Police arrested 16 Antifa demonstrators who gathered Friday night at Grand Central Station in New York City to oppose fares and policing on public transportation.
“There’s so much in the budget that can cover free transportation instead of more police,” protester Sydney Daniels said, according to CBS New York. “I don’t understand why it’s going that way instead of the other way.” 
Antifa protesters arrived at the Grand Central Terminal at about 5 p.m., after Antifa warned of “J31,” the January 31st protest with the theme, “F— the Police 3.”
Antifa encouraged commuters and protesters not to pay fares by jumping or damaging turnstiles and otherwise damaging the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s ability to operate.


New York City police and Metropolitan Transit Authority police also issued 19 summonses to protesters, who arrived wearing masks and displaying signs with anti-police sentiments.
The New York City Police Benevolent Association tweeted a video that Antifa reportedly created along with their own warning against the “anti-police movement,” Fox Business reported.


Commuters disagreed with the Antifa protesters.
“We need more cops on the trains. Less muggings, less rapes,” an anonymous commuter said.
Others sympathized with Antifa.
A woman named Brandy admitted to holding open a turnstile for half an hour.
“We pay for the metro with our taxes,” she said. “Why are we being charged then hounded if we don’t pay to use it? And of course, it’s disproportionately brown and black people being hounded and arrested.”

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., accused President Donald Trump’s defense team of “disgracing themselves” and suggested Trump’s lawyers should be disbarred.

“I don’t know how they can retain their lawyer status, in the comments that they’re making,” Pelosi told reporters on Thursday.

Pelosi was largely responding to the arguments presented by Harvard Law emeritus professor Alan Dershowitz, who has defended Trump against impeachment on the premise that abuse of power is not an impeachable offense.

In his argument on Wednesday, Dershowitz suggested that even if Trump had acted in a way that would “help him get elected,” this would still be in the “public interests,” and therefore “that cannot be the kind of quid pro quo that results in impeachment.”

Pelosi, predictably, insisted that the defense had failed to disprove her politically motivated impeachment articles.

“I don’t think they made the case,” she claimed. “I think they disgraced themselves terribly in terms of their violation of what our Constitution is about and what a president’s behavior should be.”

Pelosi and the other Democrats immediately accused Dershowitz of arguing a president can do whatever he or she wants, but Dershowitz rejected this characterization of his argument and accused Pelosi of misconstruing his words.

In addition to attacking the president’s defense, Pelosi accused his Republican allies in the Senate of trying to “dismantle the Constitution.”

She accused them of acting with purely partisan motives in rejecting her partisan impeachment.

“Some of them are even lawyers,” she said. “Imagine that you would say—ever, of any president, no matter who he or she is or whatever party—if the president thinks that his or her presidency … is good for the country, then any action is justified—including encouraging a foreign government to have an impact on our elections.”

Several other Democrats—including lead House impeachment manager Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, specifically attacked White House Counsel Pat Cipollone after a New York Times article, suspiciously timed, reported that Cipollone had been present at a meeting with former national security adviser John Bolton in which Trump asked Bolton to seek Ukraine’s help.

“You will recall Mr. Cipollone suggesting the House managers were concealing fax from this body,” Schiff said during his closing remarks.

“He said all the facts should come out,” Schiff continued. “Well, there’s a new fact which indicates that Mr. Cipollone was among those who are in the loop.”

Sen. Mazie Hirono also threatened Cipollone during a break in the proceedings, claiming he should be very afraid of the accusations that he was complicit in a cover-up and deliberately misled the Senate “tribunal.”

The claim allegedly comes from a book of Bolton’s due for publication in March, although the White House has said contains multiple instances of top-secret classification.

Schiff threatened that should the Senate vote to dismiss the articles and acquit the president without hearing their favored witnesses, including Bolton, that they could expect more damaging leaks to come.

“The facts will come out in the end,” he claimed. “In all of their horror, they will come out.”

Schiff previously claimed, falsely, that there was smoking-gun evidence that Trump was implicated in Russian collusion, and he has been caught repeatedly in lying to the public, as well as to Congress.

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) Columnist E. Jean Carroll, who accused President Donald Trump of sexually assaulting her in a Manhattan department store in the 1990s, is seeking a DNA sample from the president to prove her case.

Carroll’s attorney sent a notice to Trump’s legal team on Thursday asking that Trump submit a DNA sample “for analysis and comparison against unidentified male DNA” found on the dress Carroll wore on the day of the alleged encounter, according to the Associated Press.

Trump has vigorously denied Carroll’s accusations, arguing he had “never met this person in my life,” and that she was “totally lying.”

In response, Carroll filed a defamation lawsuit against Trump.

“Unidentified male DNA on the dress could prove that Donald Trump not only knows who I am, but also that he violently assaulted me in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman and then defamed me by lying about it and impugning my character,” Carroll said in a statement.

The tests Carroll references, however, did not find “acid phosphatase activity, a presumptive indication of the presence of semen,” according to CNN.

Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, argued that even without evidence of semen, “testing unidentified male DNA on the dress she wore during that assault has become standard operating procedure.”

When Carroll first made the accusation, Trump issued a simple response: “I’ll say it with great respect: No. 1, she’s not my type. No. 2, it never happened. It never happened, OK?”

Carroll was “trying to sell a new book — that should indicate her motivation. It should be sold in the fiction section,” Trump added.

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) Comedian Dave Chappelle endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang earlier this month, and said he did so because, like Yang, he “doesn’t see Trump supporters” as his “enemy.”

“I don’t look at Trump supporters as my enemy at all,” Chappelle said.

“I understand why people voted for Trump, I understand people are desperate. And I think that Andrew is right you run against the reasons that Trump got elected,” he said. “I got friends on both sides of the political aisle, I got fans on both sides of the political aisle.”

Chappelle admitted he received a lot of backlash—especially from liberals—when he endorsed Yang, but Chappelle said Yang’s universal basic income proposal is “so good that I think it should exist.”

Chappelle bemoaned the fact that Yang’s message was getting drowned out by political insiders like former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

“I think the fountainhead of many of the good ideas on the table this year are coming from a single source—Andrew Yang,” he explained.

“And for some reason, no one’s paying attention,” he continued. “This guy is the origin of a platform that really does address where I think the country needs to go.”

Yang’s UBI proposal, however, would likely hurt many of the middle class and blue collar workers who currently support Trump.

Detractors argue that it de-incentivizes the need or willingness to work and could potentially do little more than simply drive up inflation, creating more of a universal government dependency than economic stimulus.

Chappelle’s perspective is much different from some of the other leftists, such as CNN’s Don Lemon, who openly mocked Trump supporters on his show this week. Grammy-winning actor Alec Baldwin recently claimed “the near moral collapse of this country falls squarely in the lap of Trump’s supporters.”

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) A defamation lawsuit against Hillary Clinton by presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is moving forward now that Clinton’s lawyers have accepted the legal documents.

At first, it appeared Clinton was refusing to be served Gabbard’s $50 million lawsuit. She twice tried to reject the suit, which accuses Clinton of falsely smearing Gabbard as a Russian asset.

Gabbard’s lawyer, Brian Dunne, told the New York Post that his first attempt to serve Clinton the suit was rejected by Clinton’s Secret Service agents. The agents told Dunne to take it up with Clinton’s lawyer, David Kendall, but Kendall then told Dunne he could not accept the lawsuit on Clinton’s behalf.

“I find it rather unbelievable that Hillary Clinton is so intimidated by Tulsi Gabbard that she won’t accept service of process,” Dunne said. “But I guess here we are.”

However, Clinton’s attorneys finally agreed to process the lawsuit, and Dunne credits the media’s reporting.

“Today, after the media picked up this story, Ms. Clinton’s lawyer changed course and agreed to accept service,” Dunne told Fox News in a statement.

“We would have preferred that Ms. Clinton just accept federal judicial process in the first instance, without having to be called out by the press, but in any event, Tulsi Gabbard’s lawsuit against her will now be moving forward,” he said.

Gabbard said Clinton’s stubborn refusal to admit wrongdoing is “unfortunate.”

“No one is above the law,” she told reporters last week. “This lawsuit is about accountability—not just for me but for all service members and for the American people.”

Clinton claimed in an interview last year that Russia was grooming a third-party candidate to divide the Democratic Party and influence the 2020 presidential election. Though she didn’t mention Gabbard by name, she did suggest one of the Democratic presidential candidates was obviously “the favorite of the Russians.”

When pressed on what Clinton meant and whether she was talking about Gabbard, the former Democratic nominee’s spokesman replied, “If the nesting doll fits…”

Stacey Abrams Defends Joe Biden: 'We Cannot Have Perfection as a Litmus Test'

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) Failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams predicted she will be president by 2040, despite the fact that she has only held a state-level office and is currently being investigated for allegedly violating election laws.

Abrams told FiveThirtyEight this week she “absolutely” believes a woman of color will be elected as president in the next 20 years, and when asked if she believes “they’ll elect you,” Abrams replied: “Yes. I do. That’s my plan. And I’m very pragmatic.”

Abrams has been floated as a possible vice president pick among the Democratic presidential candidates, including longtime primary front-runner Joe Biden. Although Abrams initially rejected the idea, she later said she would be “honored to be considered by any nominee.”

Bizarrely, Abrams, who was the minority leader in the Georgia state legislature, has made failure one of her biggest assets in selling her future political aspirations—and it seems to be working.

After losing the Georgia governorship to Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, Abrams continued to insist Kemp had stolen the election and refused to concede. Without evidence, she blamed the loss on voter suppression, claiming she was a victim of discrimination.

The Democratic Party seized onto Abrams’s claims, funneling millions of dollars into Abrams’s voter-registration effort in liberal parts of the state.

Even left-leaning Politifact described Abrams’s voter suppression story as nothing more than a myth: “The claim is a good talking point, but the evidence is missing,” read one of the publication’s fact-checks.

However, almost every Democratic presidential candidate has spread Abrams’s voter-suppression conspiracy, in part because it bolsters the Democratic allegation that the GOP actively discriminates against voters of color.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., claimed last year that unspecified votes “didn’t get counted” for Abrams.  “I think that’s what the evidence seems to suggest,” Warren told the Washington Free Beacon.

After naming Abrams as one of his top running mate picks, former Biden described her as “the woman who should have been the governor of Georgia.”

And Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., said, “[If] we did something about gerrymandering, and we stopped the voting purges, and we did something significant about making sure we don’t have money in politics from the outside—Stacey Abrams would be governor of this state right now, and that’s what should have happened.”

(Ben Sellers, Liberty Headlines) Only minutes before the start of impeachment proceedings, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, one of three possible GOP votes in support of additional witnesses, indicated that she would vote against the Democrats’ motion.

“I carefully considered the need for additional witnesses and documents, to cure the shortcomings of its process, but ultimately decided that I will vote against considering motions to subpoena,” she said.

The New York Times reported that it was “all but certain to clear the way for Republicans, who have been working feverishly to block witnesses from testifying.”

However, it appeared that The New York Times was working feverishly in coordination with Democrats after a new, conveniently timed leak Friday tried to shake the proceedings.

It claimed that President Donald Trump directed then-national security adviser John Bolton to instruct newly-elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to meet with Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani. Trump responded by disputing the claim from the Times’ Maggie Haberman.

The impact that the supposed breakthrough would have was uncertain, but it seemed to be par-for-the-course with Democrats’ previous strategy for trying to pressure senators with the drip of new public information.

“Just as we predicted—and it didn’t require any great act of clairvoyance—the facts will come out,” said lead House impeachment manager Adam Schiff.

“They will continue to come out,” Schiff continued. “And the question before you today is whether they will come out in time for you to make a complete and informed judgment as to the guilt or innocence of the president.”

The new attack seemed unlikely to move the chains substantially in the House Democrats’ unsuccessful argument that Trump abused his power for personal gain or committed impeachable offenses for which his removal from office was an appropriate remedy.

That did not stop the impeachment managers from continuing to hammer away at the Senate incessantly with its demand to subpoena Bolton and four other officials whom Trump has maintained would be disqualified from testifying under longstanding executive privilege protections.

The House Democrats indicated that they planned to use the remaining balance of their 24 hour allotment to respond to the defense on Friday. It remained anyone’s guess how long the proceedings would last and whether a vote would come to the table after the two sides rested their preliminary cases.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued his usual decree that the Senate would plan to break every two hours.

Regardless of the outcome—which was expected on Friday to be an acquittal—partisan House Democrats have pledged that they are continuing to investigate Trump in their committees and have left open the door that they may wage another attempt at impeachment using whatever additional evidence they are able to obtain.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and others have rejected the possibility of a consensus on supporting Republican witnesses, including former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, the so-called whistleblower who triggered the House effort, and even Schiff himself, whose office helped engineer the whistleblower complaint.

Schiff took the offensive by trying to wage an attack on White House Counsel Pat Cipillone, claiming that the lead attorney in Trump’s defense was involved in an alleged cover-up.

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) A state lawmaker in Utah introduced a bill this week that would allow voters to recall an elected U.S. senator.

The bill, proposed by state Rep. Tim Quinn, R-Heber City, appears to be a jab at Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, though Quinn denied that he had one particular person in mind when he introduced the bill, according to the Deseret News.

“I know that’s what’s going to be the narrative,” Quinn explained. “If it were, then it might make sense to have a sunset on it. That would not be the case.”

Still, the bill comes at a time when Romney is facing additional scrutiny for siding with Democrats during the debate over impeachment trial witnesses. Romney has said he will likely vote in favor of additional testimony, and shortly thereafter, public opinion among his constituents tanked.

But Quinn said he drafted the bill “weeks and weeks ago,” before Romney began facing criticism.

“Obviously I didn’t open this bill file after he made some of that news with impeachment, it would have never been drafted this quickly,” Quinn said. “So I can understand why people might think that, but if they understood the legislative process, this was well before that.”

Quinn said he drafted the bill because some of his constituents proposed returning Utah to a “pre-17th Amendment” time, when U.S. senators were appointed rather than elected. This kind of “mechanism” would be a “good” tool to have “in place to make any senator, current, or future, a little more accountable to those who elected him or her,” Quinn explained, noting, “Six years is a long time.”

The bill would allow legal voters to petition state lawmakers and vote on whether to recall a U.S. senator. Twenty-five percent of active voters would need to join the petition before the Utah lieutenant governor could place the recall question on the ballot.

“I think it’s a fairly large hurdle,” Quinn said. “That’s a lot of signature gathering. So it’s not something that people would take lightly if someone ever did want to recall a sitting senator.”

Fox Denies Pro-Life Ad for Super Bowl But Accepts Ad Featuring Drag Queens

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) Fox Sports denied a pro-life advertisement, but accepted an advertisement featuring drag queens for this year’s Super Bowl.

The pro-life group, Faces of Choice, submitted an ad that featured the faces and stories of 14 abortion survivors, but Fox Sports reportedly blocked it, according to Lifesite News.

“We were one of the very first people to submit anything to them. We met every single stipulation that they asked for and every time we met the line they moved the line further to request something else,” Lyric Gillett, the founder of Faces of Choice, said.

Gillet said that after she submitted the advertisement, Fox said she would hear back by October, but no answer was given. The next time Gillet inquired, Fox told her all the slots had been filled, she said.

At one point, Fox even demanded that Faces of Choice submit information about everybody who donated to the ad—a request Gillet called “untenable,” but one she agreed to anyways.

“I think it’s very clever what they’re doing,” Gillett said. “If they directly said ‘no’ then we could say ‘this is asinine, look at the suitable ad that Fox rejected,’ but they haven’t directly said ‘no’—they’ve ignored us, wasted our time, refused to give an answer and refused to either give us clearance or simply say ‘no.'”

Two former contestants on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” however, will be featured in a Super Bowl ad for Sabra hummus products, according to NBC News. The ad will be “revolutionary” for the LGBT community, said LGBT marketing official Bob Witeck.

“For queer audiences, [drag] is an art form and an ‘outsiders’ language,” he said, according to NBC News. “Reaching the Super Bowl means taking our language into every home in the nation and millions around the world.”

Gillet said she hoped Fox would have given a similar platform to the “very voices almost stolen from them from the moment of conception.”

“Every single humanitarian effort, every civil rights effort that has actually made a difference has been through the voice of a survivor, and that is because the culture actually realized these people are human,” she told FaithWire.

(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) Dr. Drew Pinsky, a well-known television doctor who considered challenging House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff for his congressional seat, said Schiff is “asleep at the wheel” when it comes to the issues facing his California district.

Pinsky made headlines earlier this month when he floated a congressional bid, but while “Dr. Drew” said he is “categorically not running” for Schiff’s seat, he will not ignore Schiff’s negligence.

Dozens of homeless people die every week in Los Angeles County, Pinsky explained, but Schiff seems unconcerned.

“My God, if coronavirus were killing three people a day in our country, do you not think people would be in absolute outrage and panic?” he asked. “But, for some reason, this mental health crisis that is homelessness—because people have mental illness and are living on our streets—somehow we step over them and they die right in front of us.”

Pinsky drafted a bill that was recently introduced in California state senate committees that would “expand the definition of the gravely disabled,” he told Fox News. “So, immediately, family with resources and a bed to put their loved one in could go get them, bring them off the street, and treat them with a change in the definition.”

The former host of “Loveline” said earlier this month that the city, county and state governments are “not functioning.”

And instead of helping fix this problem, Schiff is focus on impeachment, Pinsky claimed.

“I was watching all the impeachment proceedings and I was going, ‘Oh my God, our Congress is tied up and we’re dying out here in California. What are these people doing?’” he said.

The medical professional described himself as “very moderate,” and said he changes his political party affiliation often.

“I thought, ‘Oh my God, I have to run for that office at least just to get him to start participating in the governance of this region,’” he said. “Believe me, I don’t want to. I’d have to change my whole life, and I’m not really prepared to do that yet.”
