Ramaswamy Deemed Big Winner in 1st GOP Debate

That may have been the objective for the entrepreneur and political neophyte, who was first to shoot up his hand offering praise and support for the former president, and the only candidate to say unequivocally that he would cut spending to Ukraine—an issue where many of the establishment candidates appeared to be out of step with the party’s conservative base.

Although Ramaswamy’s aggressive debate style made him a target of spirited attacks—not only from DNC-backed bully Chris Christie, but even animating the normally milquetoast Mike Pence at times—he remained the focal point of the discussion and was ready to respond, in kind, with equally sharp retorts even while the veteran policymakers derided his inexperience and relative youth.

After Christie attempted a ham-fisted comparison of Ramaswamy to former President Barack Obama, he was quickly reminded that bringing up the leftist leader was something of a political liability for him.

“Give me a hug just like you did to Obama!” Ramaswamy answered, making reference to the 2012 episode following Hurricane Sandy, during which the opportunistic Christie, then governor of New Jersey, embraced the president shortly before his re-election over Republican Mitt Romney.

But while Ramaswamy has often struck the right chords with his message by channeling Trump, some have raised red flags about his globalist past, including ties to the pharmaceutical industry, and question whether his conservative bona fides are, in fact, authentic.

Christie struck a blow to this effect, suggesting that the candidate had honed his message through artificial intelligence’s machine-based learning.

“I’ve had enough of a guy who stands up here who sounds like ChatGPT,” he said.

Meanwhile, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis once again put forth a tentative and overly cautious performance that likely did him no favors in protecting his waning position as the first runner-up after Trump, who is expected to turn himself in Thursday in Fulton County to face charges in Democrats’ fourth lawfare attack against him.

But others, like the Washington Times, disagreed, arguing that DeSantis also achieved what he set out to do during the debate by further drawing away from Trump.

“He was direct, confident and got his messages across clearly while fending off attacks and criticizing frontrunner Donald Trump on his handling of the Covid pandemic,” the Times said of DeSantis. “He probably solidified his second-place status and won over some voters.”

Border, abortion and school choice: GOP candidates spar in first presidential debate

Eight Republican candidates trailing Trump in the polls vied for second place Wednesday in the first primary debate.

The candidates traded barbs and one-liners in a high-stakes contest at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Each of the candidates touched on some of the nation’s hot-button issues, including crime, abortion and climate change. Interruptions were widespread. Many candidates talked over their peers, at times making it difficult to hear what was said. But the issues at the U.S.-Mexico border brought out some of the strongest rhetoric of the evening.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he would authorize U.S. forces to cross the border to go after clandestine fentanyl labs and other criminal activity in Mexico.

“So when they are coming across, yes, we are going to use lethal force,” he said.

Former Vice President Mike Pence stood on his record at the southern border. He said he negotiated “Remain in Mexico,” which required some asylum seekers to return to Mexico to await their asylum hearing. Pence said he also negotiated for funding to build a border wall.

“As president of the United States, I will engage Mexico the same and we will partner with the Mexican military and we will hunt down and destroy the cartels that are claiming lives in the United States of America,” Pence said.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he’d stop illegal border crossings and make sure those who have crossed illegally aren’t rewarded.

“We have to have law and order in this country,” he said.

Christie said that besides securing the border, the U.S. must go after China for shipping chemicals used to make fentanyl to Mexican cartels.

But the border wasn’t the only issue that riled up the candidates.

Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy called climate change a “hoax” and called the rest of the candidates on the stage “bought and paid for.” That made him a target. Pence retorted, “Now is not the time for on-the-job training,” while glancing at Ramaswamy.

“We don’t need to bring in a rookie, we don’t need to bring in people without experience,” Pence said.

Christie said Ramaswamy sounded like “ChatGTP.” At one time or another, nearly every candidate piled on Ramaswamy.

Former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley took a stand on abortion that frustrated several candidates. She said getting enough votes for a federal 15-week abortion ban was unrealistic, and the focus should be on banning late-term abortions.

“Can’t we all agree that we should ban late-term abortions? Can’t we all agree that we should encourage adoptions? Can’t we all agree that doctors and nurses who don’t believe in abortion shouldn’t have to perform them? Can’t we all agree that contraception should be available? And can’t we all agree that we are not going to put a woman in jail or give her the death penalty if she gets an abortion?”

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum said he wouldn’t support a federal ban on abortion.

“I’m a pro-life governor of a very pro-life state, and this issue is, of course, very important,” he said. “But I am on the record, and I stand behind, that we should not have a federal abortion ban. We should not. And the reason why we shouldn’t is very simple: It’s the 10th Amendment in the Constitution.”

South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott faced questions about his spending record.

“There’s no doubt that during the Trump administration, we were dealing with the COVID virus, we spent more money,” he said. “But here’s what happened at the end of our time in the majority, we had low unemployment, record low unemployment, three and a half percent for the majority of the population, a 70-year low for women. African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians had an all-time low, but our inflation was at 2%.”

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson made a point not to raise his hand when asked if he would support Trump if the former president was convicted on criminal charges and becomes the Republican presidential nominee.

Scott took aim at public school teachers’ unions when asked about education.

“The only way we change education in this nation is to break the backs of the teachers’ unions,” he said. “They are standing in the door house of our kids locking them into failing schools and locking them out of the greatest future they could have.”

Several candidates emphasized school choice as an answer to the nation’s waning student test scores and the need to curb the power of teachers’ unions.

Trump decided not to participate in Wednesday’s debate. He cited his lead in the polls for skipping the debate. Trump’s sit-down interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was released Wednesday night at the same time as the debate.

Biden Implies Putin Killed Russian Mercenary Leader; Others Say Hillary Did It

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) With multiple media outlets reporting that Russian mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed in a plane crash Wednesday, a befuddled President Joe Biden admitted to reporters that he was clueless about the situation, and then strongly implied that Vladimir Putin likely had him assassinated.

When asked for his reaction to the reported plane crash in Russia, Biden initially seemed to reference a comment he made after Prigozhin led a mutiny against Russia’s army leaders.

“I’d be careful what I rode in,” Biden said Wednesday, echoing his remark from July when he said of Prigozhin, “”If I were he, I’d be careful what I ate. I’d be keeping my eye on my menu,” according to Reuters.

When pressed for his assessment of Wednesday’s developments, Biden offered, “I don’t know for a fact what happened but I’m not surprised,” before casually tossing out, “There’s not much that happens in Russia that Putin is not behind. But I don’t know enough to know the answer. I’ve been working out for the last hour and a half.”

While Biden was busy allegedly working out, it was reported that a plane carrying three crew members and seven passengers that was en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg went down in flames, according to officials cited by Russia’s state news agency Tass.

An official also claimed to have spoken with Wagner commanders from Prigozhin’s mercenary force, who confirmed that the rebel leader was on board.

While Biden was left clueless about the fiery crash and pointed fingers at Putin, Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec pointed in another direction.

“You know, Hillary believed Prigozhin stole the 2016 election,” he cracked of the Deplorable one. “I bring this up for no reason whatsoever.”

‘Corrupt News’: Tucker’s Trump Interview Sounds Death Knell for Legacy Media

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) CNN’s leftist shill Bakari Sellers might set a world record for eating crow, and in the process showcase a brutal reality facing mainstream media and its future outside an isolated echo chamber.

Leading up to Wednesday night’s GOP presidential debate, broadcast by Fox News, legacy media savored a potential opportunity to take pot shots at Donald Trump’s absence from the stage. The former president opted, instead, to sit for an interview with Tucker Carlson on his X, formerly Twitter, platform.

“Donald Trump’s counter-programming is horrible,” Sellers declared. “I don’t think anybody is going to be watching Tucker Carlson on Twitter, or X, or whatever it’s called now.”

Turned out, it was called a landslide of epic proportions. Carlson and Trump’s “counter-programming” on X dismantled mainstream media and took a sledgehammer to the Biden regime and the multiple sham indictments its DOJ has unleashed to disrupt the 2024 election.

The interview’s first 10 minutes reportedly amassed 20 million views, 100,000 likes and 35,000 reposts.

“RIP Fox News and the corporate media,” Trending Politics’ Collin Rugg tweeted. “This interview will be record breaking.”

Collins’s prescience outshined CNN’s dark soothsaying as glaringly as Trump’s interview overshadowed Fox News’ debate and the eight candidates on stage.

In less than four hours after the interview premiered on X, it had topped 100 million views, snagged more than 439,500 likes and was reposted with more than 124,400 shares, “completely overshadowing all of television programming on Wednesday night,” Trump’s campaign announced.

Trump’s response to one of Carlson’s opening questions helped explain those numbers. “Do you think television is declining?” the former Fox host asked the former president. “I think cable’s down because it’s lost credibility,” Trump said, citing MSNBC as a prime example and speaking to corporate media in general.

“It’s so wrong, what they write and what they do and what they say. It’s fake news, as I said. I think I came up with that term. I hope I did because it’s a good one,” Trump said, adding a caveat.

“It’s not tough enough anymore. It’s corrupt news, but somehow that doesn’t play as nicely. But it is corrupt news.”

Whatever the moniker, the viewing public is increasingly tuning out, Trump said, referencing CNN “who absolutely is doing no ratings at all. I mean they’re dead.”

The reason was because “they really don’t have credibility,” Trump said, adding the GOP’s debate host network into the mix.

“Fox is way down, as you know, and the good old days are long ago,” Trump said, in a nod to the network’s plummeting ratings since Carlson’s ouster.

“It could come back, but they just don’t have a lot of credibility. Tucker, you know that better than anybody, I think it was a terrible move, getting rid of you,” Trump said.

“You were number one on television, and all of a sudden, we’re doing this interview, but we’ll get bigger ratings using this crazy forum that you’re using, than probably the debate or the competition.”

MAGA spokesperson Caroline Leavitt drove home what those numbers portend not only for legacy media, but also for the GOP moving forward.

“The future of the Republican Party is not like the Republican Party of the past. It’s America First,” Leavitt told NewsMax.

“It’s with a base of voters that are not paying attention to what the legacy media tells them. So I don’t think we’re heading backwards. We’re heading forward, and tonight’s numbers really prove that,” she said of the blockbuster Carlson interview.

Union Boss Randi Weingarten Led Efforts that ‘Coached’ Teachers How to Groom Students

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Along with exacerbating the devastating academic learning losses suffered during the pandemic by aggressively lobbying to keep schools shuttered, the nation’s two largest teachers unions, representing upwards of five million public school teachers, have remained committed to pushing radical LGBT indoctrination and leftist dogma into classrooms while working to erode parental rights.

Under the direction of far-leftist union boss Randi Weingarten, the American Federation of Teachers “coached its members on how to inject gender identity politics into classroom teaching,” according to a Defense of Freedom Institute report titled “Summer of Woke, The Sequel” that was published Wednesday.

The radical propagandizing and indoctrination was on full display at the AFT’s “Together Educating America’s Children” conference in July. Two of the TEACH sessions focused on “Affirming LGBTQIA+ Identities in and out of the Classroom” and “The TGNCNB [transgender, gender nonconforming, nonbinary] Inclusive School and Classroom,” according to the DFI report.

The so-called inclusive classroom session was facilitated by a New York middle school teacher who was caught on video boasting about her technique of leaning on tenured teachers “to drive gender politics at school because they have more job security than their non-tenured peers,” DFI reported.

The same teacher also discussed what she called the benefits of “‘breaking down the gender binary’ as early as elementary school and ‘getting rid of girls and boys.’ Touting her ‘plethora of pride flags,’ she claimed that children as young as two and three years old were coming out as LGBTQ+,” the DFI reported stated.

Prior to the conference on best grooming practices, the AFT passed a LGBTQ+ resolution supporting “age-appropriate and inclusive” bathroom and locker room policies, to be pushed into schools.

“Far from truly being inclusive, these policies force teenage girls to share restrooms and locker rooms with biological men and offer little to no recourse should one of the women feel uncomfortable,” the DFI report stated.

The AFT’s resolution also commits its members to assisting LGBTQ+ activist groups, including one that provides tips and resources that enable alleged educators to “use a student’s preferred name and pronouns at school without notifying parents.”

Weingarten’s union has a dubious history of working to erode parental rights and has come under fire for willfully misrepresenting legislation that seeks to give parents a better grip of what is transpiring in classrooms, from curriculum to social services.

“This is propaganda. This is misinformation. This is the way in which wars start. This is the way in which hatred starts,” Weingarten claimed last year.

As the country’s second-largest teachers union, the National Education Association has similarly distorted parental rights legislation, calling the bills “extremist” and “anti-LGBTQ+”.

Correcting the disinformation, the DFI report informed, “These parental rights laws are not anti-anyone; they are simply an acknowledgement that government schools are not the appropriate place to teach children about moral issues that directly intersect with many families’ values and religious beliefs.”

The NEA and AFT have also both continued “vehemently opposing legislation that protects students from sexually graphic content” being placed in classrooms.

While the DFI acknowledged that most teachers are in the profession to actually help children learn, outfits like the AFT and NEA are making the task increasingly difficult.

“The unions’ mission is clear: train teachers to affirm every gender identity that conflicts with a student’s sex, ignore basic biological facts, hide the training from parents, and shape school policies to force others to do the same,” the DFI report asserted.

“The NEA and AFT have shown, yet again, that they do not represent the interests of the average teacher and will never serve as responsible stewards of an effective public K–12 education system.”

Trump Co-Defendant Goes Viral After ‘Epic’ Mugshot Trolling in Fulton County

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) David Shafer, a co-defendant in the Fulton County DA charges related to the case prosecuting alleged Georgia election interference, set social media abuzz with an unexpectedly playful, yet defiant, move.

Following his arraignment on Wednesday, Shafer turned heads by making his own mugshot his profile picture on X, quickly going viral as a result. With the caption “Good morning! #NewProfilePicture,” Shafer’s apparent joy drew reactions from prominent conservative figures and commentators.

The ALX account summed it up as “Epic,” while Dan Bongino, a prominent commentator, offered a visual thumbs-up by attaching an applauding photo below Shafer’s tweet.

Podcast Host Jack Posobiec pointed out the uniqueness of the move, exclaiming, “SHAFER JUST MADE HIS FULTON COUNTY MUGSHOT HIS NEW PROFILE PIC.” Mollie Hemingway, Editor-in-Chief of the Federalist, added a touch of humor: “I hope that when the corrupt prosecutors come for me, I’m able to have this awesome of a mug shot.”

Heather Mullins, a political commentator, similarly praised Shafer’s fearless attitude, calling him “badass.” She further added, “Look at this mug shot. No fear because we have what they don’t…EVIDENCE!” Journalist Mike Cernovich’s succinct “Innocent” declaration and Catturd’s emphatic “Based” reaction contributed to the growing online buzz.

Facing a total of eight charges, including impersonating a public officer, forgery and attempting to file false documents, Shafer’s association as one of the 16 pro-Trump alternate electors has brought him into the national spotlight in the contentious case led by leftist Fulton County DA Fani Willis.

While it is not immediately clear whether Trump’s legal defense PAC is backing Shafer’s defense, the Georgia Republican Party launched a fundraiser to support Shafer’s legal battle in Fulton County.

“David Shafer and the other contingent Republican electors in Georgia are patriots who love this country and did absolutely nothing wrong,” Georgia GOP Chairman Josh McKoon said. “David Shafer did the right thing… He exercised the First Amendment rights promised to each of us. He did so bravely, honorably and with integrity.”

The release of Shafer’s mugshot followed the equally headline-grabbing mugshot of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and attorneys Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis, all of which worked closely with former President Trump to file lawsuits amid the infamous 2020 presidential election.

Trump is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.

Candidates Pledge to Support, Pardon Trump Ahead of His Arrest

(By Casey Harper, The Center Square) Nearly all of the Republican primary candidates pledged to support former President Donald Trump during the debate Wednesday, even if he is convicted of any of his myriad legal charges.

Trump is expected to be arrested in Fulton County, Georgia, Thursday over charges that he conspired to change the state’s 2020 election results. Those charges are part of the fourth indictment Trump faces, raising real concern that he could be convicted and jailed even as the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for president.

“NOBODY HAS EVER FOUGHT FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY LIKE PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP,” the former president wrote on social media Wednesday. “FOR DOING SO, I WILL PROUDLY BE ARRESTED TOMORROW AFTERNOON IN GEORGIA. GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!”

These are the candidates who qualified for the debate Wednesday night:

  • North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum
  • Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie
  • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis
  • Former Ambassador Nikki Haley
  • Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson
  • Former Vice President Mike Pence
  • Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy
  • South Carolina U.S. Sen. Tim Scott

When asked if they would still support Trump for president if he were convicted in one of the 91 charges he faces, all of them except Hutchinson and Christie raised their hand. Christie seemed to start to raise his hand but then change his mind. Notably, the candidates had to pledge to support the Republican nominee as a condition of participating in the debate.

Christie said he would not support Trump and ended up in a sparring match with Ramaswamy, who said the indictments were politically motivated.

Christie was booed for an extended period of time and had to stop speaking. That was one of multiple tense exchanges between Ramaswamy and Christie.

“I’ve had enough already tonight of a guy who sounds like ChatGPT standing up here,” Christie said of Ramaswamy earlier in the debate.

Ramaswamy also called out Pence, saying he was the only candidate on stage who would pardon Trump on day one.

“If people at home want to see a bunch of people blindly bashing Donald Trump without an iota of vision for this country, they can just change the channel to MSNBC right now,” Ramaswamy said.

Ramaswamy asked Pence to commit to pardon Trump, but Pence gave a vague answer, saying he would give a pardon “fair consideration.”

“I don’t know why you assume Donald Trump will be convicted of these crimes,” Pence said. “That is the difference between you and me. I have given pardons when I was governor of the state of Indiana. It usually follows a finding of guilt and contrition by the individual that’s been convicted.”

Haley and Ramaswamy went at it during a debate over the issue of the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

“You have no foreign policy experience and, you know what, it shows,” Haley said. “It shows.”

Her comments came after Ramaswamy said he wished Haley well in her future career on the boards of defense companies because of her support for defense funding.

DeSantis avoided much of the fighting and attacks, which largely went to Ramaswamy and whoever he was sparring with at the time. The cheers and boos bolstered and opposed different candidates throughout the night, depending on the issues and their answers.

The candidates came into the debate facing an uphill battle against former President Donald Trump, who leads by a significant margin.

The Center Square Voters’ Voice Poll, conducted in conjunction with Noble Predictive Insights in July, found that Trump is far out ahead of his Republican competitors. The survey found that 53% of surveyed Republicans support Trump, followed by 18% supporting DeSantis. Former Vice President Mike Pence and entrepreneur and author Vivek Ramaswamy came in third and fourth place with 7% and 6% support, respectively.

U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley tied for fifth place at 4% support.

Trump’s legal issues risk putting him behind bars, making second place in the primary more important than ever. While Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis currently holds that spot, it remains unclear how the debate may move that needle.

Daily Wire’s Jordan Peterson Faces Draconian Punishment over Speech

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) The Ontario Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of the Ontario College of Psychologists, allowing them to mandate Dr. Jordan Peterson, the prominent psychologist and Daily Wire host, to undertake a reeducation program.

The ruling came in response to Peterson’s comments on social media, which were deemed offensive by the radical left.

Peterson took to X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday to announce the disturbing news. He expressed his frustration with the recent ruling by the Ontario Court of Appeal that allows the College of Psychologists to proceed with prosecuting him, and criticized the erosion of free speech in Canada.

The podcast host further added, “I will make every aspect of this public [a]nd we will see what happens when utter transparency is the rule.”

The move followed the Ontario College of Psychologists’ January 2023 threats over Peterson’s tweets against Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and re-tweeting Pierre Poilievre, a conservative leader, according to the Post Millennial.

The College of Psychologists had previously issued warnings, leading to their decision to enforce the reeducation program.

Peterson had anticipated the outcome and remained resolute in his stance. “I stand by what I have said and done and wish them luck in their continued prosecution,” he said before adding, “I tweeted and otherwise expressed my opposition to trans surgery butchery, @JustinTrudeau and his minions, and the lying climate apocalypse-mongers.”

Peterson had initially filed a judicial review and argued that the body did not have the authority to police his speech on social media, reported the Post Millennial.

“The application for judicial review is dismissed,” the judges claimed. “The applicant shall pay the respondent costs, as agreed, in the amount of $25,000.”

Peterson, a vocal critic of transgender surgeries on children, was once banned from Twitter for criticizing breast removal procedures. As reported by Fox News, Peterson had said: “Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician.”

Upon Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, Peterson’s account was reinstated and has since doubled down on his opposition to transgenderism.

“Enough butchery,” Peterson said on Wednesday night.

UN Builds ‘Digital Army’ to Punish Dissent, Censor Critics

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The globalist United Nations revealed that it is “building a digital army” that would police and censor the speech of the taxpayers online.

The organization doubled down on the narrative about the supposedly serious threat that this new “fight against online misinformation” phenomenon brings to humanity, Slay News reported.

In addition to that, the UN added that it is not satisfied with just censoring “misinformation.” The globalist agency upped the ante by starting a war against “deadly disinformation,” as the globalists themselves described it.

The international organization warned that “disinformation” is “deadly” and poses an “existential” risk to the core building blocks of modern societies such as “democratic institutions” and “fundamental human rights,” the UN wrote in an announcement that was published on their website.

The globalists in the UN went full Orwell by using alarmist language, like the terms “war” and “battlefield,” to justify censoring the information that dissents from the official Big Brother narrative. This is the same language that the Biden regime used to peddle COVID-19 vaccines during the pandemic.

To justify its censorship efforts, the UN also wrote about alleged threats such as “undermining epidemic-containing efforts” and “protecting scientific truths and facts,” while claiming that its peacekeeping work itself and the safety and lives of peacekeepers are falling victim to “large-scale misinformation.”

The solution, according to the UN, is to launch an effort to test “proactive” approaches to the “disinformation” problem the leftist agency defined.

The UN recommended testing these plans in war-torn African countries. Among those countries is the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in which the UN launched its leading mission — The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or MONUSCO.

“The corrupt @UN can go straight to hell,” The Patriotic Hammer wrote.

The Biden regime used similar Orwellian tactics to spread its pro-establishment propaganda on social media platforms.

Whitmer Kidnap Judge: Defense Can’t Cite FBI Entrapment Efforts

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) During Tuesday’s opening statements at the trial of three men accused of aiding the 2020 alleged militia plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, defense attorney Bill Barnett made accurate statements about an FBI informant involved in the case—describing how the informant, Dan Chappel, became the second in command of a militia, trained his fellow members and encouraged them to commit crimes.

State prosecutor Bill Rollstin objected to Barnett’s factual statements, accusing him of trying to “poison the jury” by arguing that the FBI entrapped his client.

Barnett responded to Rollstin’s claim by arguing that he’s only presenting true facts to the jury.

“I was stating facts that are in the police reports. Everything’s a fact. They don’t want to hear facts in this case,” he said.

Barnett further said that he’s not even arguing that his client, Eric Molitor, was entrapped. Barnett said Molitor didn’t have anything to do with the kidnapping conspiracy and is innocent of any wrongdoing.

“I never once said, ‘entrapment,’” the lawyer said. “I’m sorry I had to tell the whole story that’s not being told here [about FBI informants provoking the plot].”

However, Judge Charles Hamlyn agreed with the prosecution. The judge claimed that by noting that an FBI informant was second in command of a militia supposedly plotting to kidnap Whitmer, Barnett was essentially making an entrapment defense.

“There were a couple times you said the FBI did the training, the FBI was the XO [executive officer], [confidential human source] Dan was the one to organize these guys and did that,” the judge said.

“If you didn’t cross the line, you were right on it,” he added.

“When you said CHS Dan is the one who did the training, that is describing the FBI as entrapping your client.”

The judge’s ruling sparked outrage from those watching the trial, including from the sister of Adam Fox, one of the men who was found guilty last year of plotting against Whitmer.

However, the judge’s decision is par for the course in a case that has been heavily slanted towards the prosecution in multiple trials.

For instance, at his federal trials last year, Fox was prohibited from introducing as evidence thousands of text messages between FBI informants and their handling agents. Those texts show, among other things, that FBI agents encouraged their informants to kidnap Whitmer.

And in this state trial, the prosecution has repeatedly spread misinformation. Michigan’s Attorney General’s Office has sent press releases calling the defendants in this case—Molitor and twin brothers William and Michael Null—members of the Wolverine Watchmen, when they were never members of that group.

Prosecutor Rollstin also repeated a debunked claim in April that Barry Croft—who was found guilty last year—of issuing a $1,000 bounty against an FBI informant who betrayed him. As Headline USA has explained, Rollstin’s accusation was already debunked in federal court in February 2022.

Even a judge in the current case spread misinformation in February, when a court order was issued that accused Brandon Caserta and Daniel Harris of participating in the plot—even though Caserta and Harris were found not guilty last year.

That judge, Kevin Elsenheimer, was replaced by Judge Hamlyn as the one presiding over the current trial. Based on Hamlyn’s pro-prosecution decisions on Tuesday, it appears as if Hamlyn is little better than his counterpart.

Border Patrol Admits Leaving Gates Open in Ariz. for Illegals to Cross

(Headline USA) U.S. Border Patrol admitted this week that it left flood gates along the southern border between Arizona and Mexico open, allowing thousands of migrants to illegally enter the country.

The flood gates are located in the Tuscon border sector, which has become the busiest in the country this year, with Border Patrol encountering 42,561 illegal immigrants in July alone. Despite these crossings, agents reportedly welded more than 100 gates along the border wall open to prevent anyone from closing them.

When pressed on who made the call to leave the gates open, Border Patrol acknowledged it “makes the final decision on opening gates based on operational conditions and forecasted weather,” according to the New York Post.

Customs and Border Protection claimed the gates have been left open because of Arizona’s annual monsoon season.

“High water flow combined with excessive sediment and debris buildup can stress or comprise the design integrity of the barrier,” the department said. “Once the rain or flood event is over and the debris and sediment are removed, the gates can be closed and secured.”

Drug cartels are reportedly taking advantage of the open route, as are illegal immigrants from all over the world. As many as 1,500 migrants per day from countries such as China, Egypt, and Central and South American countries are walking through the open gates.

“Those gates should never be open,” Brandon Judd, the president of the national Border Patrol union, said.

Judd said the agents who welded the gates open were acting on the orders of superiors, who should be “hammered” for not only letting migrants in, but also for endangering the lives of border agents, he added.

“Those gates should never open up. What would be the reason for it? Why would you do it?” he said.
