Hero Cop Saves Baby During Traffic Stop

(Headline USA) A suburban Detroit police officer is being praised as a hero for saving the life of an 18-month-old boy after he stopped a car for speeding.

Warren Police Department Officer Brenden Fraser was watching for distracted drivers Tuesday when he stopped a Chevrolet Camaro going an estimated 75-80 mph.

“We got a baby in here dying!” the boy’s mother told him.

Fraser saw the baby was turning blue and his eyes had rolled back.

“I look inside, and there’s a child that’s having some kind of medical emergency when the uncle hands him over to me,” said Fraser. “He had spit and all types of saliva around his mouth. It looked like he was maybe choking, so I put him on my forearm, and I administered a couple of back blows to him when I felt some saliva and vomit fall onto my arm.”

That got the boy breathing again.

“Watching it now, it’s kind of overwhelming, but in the moment there’s really not much thought other than relying on the training,” Fraser said.

Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said the boy has been released from a hospital and is home with family. He praised Fraser for his quick thinking and action.

“Officer Fraser’s actions on this traffic stop are nothing short of heroic,” he said in a statement. “This incident shows that police work and traffic stops are not always about writing tickets or making arrests.”

The family has not been publicly identified.

IRS to Tax State Tax Returns

(Joe Mueller, The Center Square) – Elected officials in Colorado are sounding the alarm on a possible change to Internal Revenue Service rules on taxing state tax refunds.

The IRS’ 16-page guidance on “federal income tax consequences of certain state payments” clarifies the federal tax status of state and local tax refunds and other payments made by governments to individuals.

“Payments made by states under legislatively provided social benefit programs for the promotion of the general welfare are not included as income on an individual recipient’s federal income tax return,” the IRS said in a news release.

“This updates the previous guidance, which only described the taxability of payments made during 2022,” the IRS said. “Today’s notice also requests comments regarding the application of the rules described in this notice, as well as specific aspects of state payment programs or additional situations on which federal income tax guidance would be helpful.”

Gov. Jared Polis said the proposal goes against a 30-year precedent of Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights refunds being exempt from federal taxes. In years when the state’s revenue exceeds the revenue cap, Colorado taxpayers receive a tax refund under TABOR.

“This absurd potential action from the IRS would cost Coloradans money and confuse people, and I call on the Biden administration to reverse course,” Polis said in a statement.

In February, Polis voiced his approval of an IRS decision not to require Coloradans to pay federal income tax on 2022 TABOR refunds. Colorado was one of 17 states with payments excluded from federal income tax liability in 2022.

Polis’ office estimates Coloradans would pay $400 million in federal taxes, or approximately $100 per individual, on their 2022 returns without the IRS exception.

“Our administration strongly disagrees with the IRS guidance as it fails to factor in that TABOR refunds are returning sales tax dollars in addition to income tax dollars and fees that our citizens have already paid and therefore are an entirely legitimate tax refund and should not be subject to further state or federal taxation,” the governor added.

Colorado’s congressional delegation sent a letter to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel on Thursday taking issue with the proposal.

“We urge the IRS not to abandon 30 years of precedent, and we hope you can resolve the current ambiguity so that Colorado’s taxpayers do not face further confusion to say nothing of the nightmarish burden of an unprecedented tax,” the letter said.

“For 30 years, the IRS has not taxed TABOR refunds – and it makes no sense for them to start now,” U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., tweeted. “I’m committed to working with the IRS to ensure TABOR’s precedent is respected and that Coloradans can keep the money they are entitled to.”

“TABOR is a refund of Coloradans’ hard earned tax dollars, not new income. The IRS has agreed for 30 years,” U.S. Sen. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., said. “We’re not going to let that change now.”

For a state tax refund to fall under the IRS “general welfare exclusion” and not be considered as federal gross income, it must be for the “promotion of general welfare (that is, based on the need of the individual or family receiving such payments)…”

In November, Colorado voters will decide on Proposition HH, which proposes reducing the residential property tax rate to 6.7% and replacing the lost revenue with TABOR refund money.

Google Hides Trump, RFK Jr. Campaign Sites, Pushes Biden Search Results

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) It was recently revealed that Google banned the 2024 Republican presidential candidates’ websites — including Donald Trump’s — from its first page of results the day before the first Republican Party presidential primary debate while showing the websites of Democratic presidential candidates — including Joe Biden’s.

When MRC Free Speech America searched for “presidential campaign websites,” the Big Tech giant displayed websites of every single Democrat, except for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the biggest threat to Biden’s nomination right now. Biden’s campaign website showed up as the second search result.

As expected, the candidates from the Democratic party who didn’t have any chance of winning the election were allowed to show up on the first page of the results. One of those candidates was Marianne Williamson, whose website showed up in fifth place.

Google even went as far as displaying the websites of the past failed Democratic Party presidential candidates who aren’t even running for president in 2024. Among those people are Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., the ninth place; Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., the twelfth place; and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the twenty-ninth place.

“Google has erased every threat to Joe Biden. We know that Google pulled out all the stops to put Hillary Clinton in the White House, and it has continued to interfere in our elections ever since,” MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider said.

Schneider then said that, in comparison to other social media platforms and search engines, it is harder to document what Google does in secret. However, this time, they were able to catch them “red-handed again.”

“Google has consistently stood apart from all other search engines, and not in a good way. We have repeatedly seen Google and Big Tech social media platforms treat Republican candidates harshly compared to their Democrat opponents,” he said.

Google also did its dirty job just before the 2022 midterm elections, when the Big Tech censor buried 10 of 12 Senate Republican Party candidates’ campaign websites while highlighting their opponent’s campaign sites.

In addition to promoting Democrats, Google also went after its critics in Congress, which resulted in burying 10 Republicans’ websites for daring to oppose the censorship from Google.

WaPo Reporter Storms Off Interview When Confronted About Biden Bribery Claims

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A recent clash between a reporter at the Washington Post and a podcast host has sparked a fervent debate about the Biden corruption scandal and the media’s unwillingness to report on the damning findings.

Podcast host Noam Dworman pressed Philip Bump, a columnist at the Post, about damning evidence tying Joe Biden to an alleged bribery scandal involving a Burisma executive.

“I’ve written about these claims and the argument about his dad calling him. Did you read what I wrote?” Bump asked, attempting to downplay allegations that both Joe Biden and his son received $5 million bribes from a Ukrainian gas company. “It’s not debunked. Neither of us were there,” Dworman responded. But Bump was not interested and added, “Well, I debunked it from the standpoint that I’ve already addressed this and presented counterarguments to it.”

The heated exchange culminated in Bump abruptly ending the conversation, leaving Dworman bewildered and critics frustrated at the legacy media’s lack of interest in reporting the allegations of corruption embroiling the Biden family. Critics argue that such actions erode public trust in the media’s impartiality and its role in facilitating informed discussions.
“Dems parrot the idiotic line that Hunter’s crimes ‘haven’t been tied to Joe’ because WaPo ‘journalists’ like Philip Bump refuse to report basic facts,” said Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. “Instead they rage quit interviews when forced to admit Hunter already confirmed he paid the Big Guy half.”

Political commentator Glenn Greenwald echoed Kirk’s remarks taking to Twitter to react. “If want you want to see what corporate media really is, I can’t recommend enough this @noam_dworman interview of WashPost ‘national columnist’ @pbump about Bump’s vigorous, tireless, limitless, unconstrained advocacy for Joe Biden on the Hunter scandals,” Greenwald said.
Prominent author Peter Schweizer also chimed in, calling the entire Bump meltdown worth watching.

Facing the mounting backlash, the Post rushed to defend its propagandist.
“Today, I received an email from the Washington Post in which it stands by the Post’s Philip Bump and his controversial claims on Lafayette Park, the Hunter Biden laptop, and Russian collusion,” Jonathan Turley, a conservative legal expert, said. Turley added, “I wanted to lay out what the Post is now embracing as true.”

New Evidence Emerges in Georgia Election Case, Potentially Exonerating Republicans

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Federalist, a conservative news outlet, has unveiled a critical finding in the ongoing legal battle surrounding Georgia’s 2020 election results.

According to their bombshell report, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis possesses evidence that raises questions about the indictment of several Republicans, including David Shafer and Ray Smith, in connection to the election controversy.

Willis’s August 14 indictment alleged that Republican electors for former President Donald Trump were involved in an unlawful “conspiracy” to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results. However, the Federalist uncovered a transcript from a crucial meeting on December 14, 2020, which contradicts these allegations.

As reported by the Federalist, the transcript directly shows that the GOP electors did not seek to violate the law but to legally preserve Trump’s challenge to the state’s election results. Willis, through her indictment, claimed the electors broke the law when they allegedly impersonated public officers.

Shafer, among others, emphasized that they were acting as “Republican nominees for Presidential Elector,” not as “duly elected and qualified” presidential electors. The rationale at the time was that if Trump’s lawsuits succeeded, the then-president would have electors ready to cast the ballots in his name.

The transcript revealed that the meeting was convened to ensure the protection of Trump’s legal rights, given that his election challenge against Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, was pending. This context is essential in understanding the actions of the Republican electors involved, the Federalist reported.

The report also draws parallels between this situation and the 1960 presidential contest between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, where electors for both candidates were named due to a dispute over electoral votes. The report suggests that the alternative electors would have ensured the expression of the Georgia people’s will if the court had ruled in Trump’s favor.

“Unlike Kennedy, Trump never had his day in court over his legal challenges to those votes and others, but had the court ruled in Trump’s favor, the alternative electors would have been in place to ensure the will of the Georgia people was exercised,” the report concluded.

Huh? Fauci Admits Masks Shortcomings but Encourages Continued Usage Anyway

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Dr. Anthony Fauci, the embattled figure in the nation’s fight against COVID-19, is once again in the spotlight as he doubles down on mask mandates, despite acknowledging evidence questioning their effectiveness.

Fauci’s Saturday remarks on Smerconish, while expressing concerns over public compliance, have left many questioning his consistency and credibility.

“I am concerned that people will not abide by recommendations,” Fauci told CNN host Michael Smerconish in an interview. This statement comes at a time when COVID-19 cases are surging. Fauci’s alarmist tone did little to instill confidence in the public, especially given his ever-changing guidance throughout the pandemic.

Fauci emphasized that these recommendations were not mandates, particularly for the elderly and those with underlying health conditions. However, his wavering stance on masks has raised eyebrows.

Smerconish pressed Fauci with a reference to a recent comprehensive study by Oxford epidemiologist Tom Jefferson. The study concluded that there was “just no evidence that masks make any difference” in reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.

In response, Fauci admitted the facts found in the report. “When you’re talking about the effect on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong,” he continued.

Fauci’s inability to provide a clear response to these findings added to the growing skepticism surrounding his guidance.

Critics, such as popular podcast host Tucker Carlson, have been vocal in their disapproval of Fauci’s handling of the pandemic. Carlson remarked, “I have no respect for them at all,” referring to Washington’s decision-makers, with Fauci taking a prominent place on his list. Carlson dismissed Fauci’s qualifications and questioned his ability to provide sound advice.

Most recently, Fauci’s former boss, President Donald Trump issued a fiery response to the left’s efforts to unleash mask mandates.

“The left-wing lunatics are trying very hard to bring back COVID lockdowns and mandates with all of their sudden fearmongering about the new variants that are coming,” Trump said in the minute-long video posted on his presidential Twitter page.

“They want to restart the COVID hysteria so they can justify more lockdowns, more censorship, more illegal drop boxes, more mail-in ballots and trillions of dollars in payoffs to their political allies heading into the 2024 election—does that sound familiar?” Trump further questioned.

‘Not About Politics’: Biden Tries to Save Face After DeSantis Snub in Florida

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Joe Biden’s visit to Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia has been marred by controversy, as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a potential rival in the 2024 presidential race, chose not to meet with the president.

This development has ignited conflicting statements from both the White House and the Governor’s Office, further contributing to the growing criticism of the Biden administration during times of natural disasters.

Upon landing in Florida, Biden was greeted by Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., but the absence of DeSantis raised significant questions. DeSantis’ spokesperson, Jeremy Redfern, cited logistical challenges in the hurricane-affected region as the reason for the snub, but this explanation has been met with skepticism from Biden officials.

“In these rural communities, and so soon after impact, the security preparations alone that would go into setting up such a meeting would shut down ongoing recovery efforts,” Redfern said.

FEMA chief Deanne Criswell’s assertion that the meeting location had been mutually agreed upon with the governor only fueled the controversy.

Meanwhile, White House propagandist Karine Jean-Pierre refused to comment on whether DeSantis refused to meet Biden for political reasons.

“We’re going to let the governor speak for himself,” she claimed. “The president spoke with the governor. It was an understanding that the president said to him he was coming to Florida. We never heard any disagreement with it.”

As reported by Fox News on Saturday, DeSantis previously met Biden to survey the damages of Hurricane Ian in 2022. At the time, however, DeSantis was not running for president.

Jean-Pierre refused to say whether the presidential bid might have influenced the governor’s decision. “That is a question for the governor,” she responded. “It is not about politics. It doesn’t matter if it’s a red state or a blue state, the president’s going to show up and be there for the community.”

The Florida debacle comes amid critics seizing upon this incident as another example of what they perceive as a pattern of insensitivity from the Biden administration during times of national dismay.

Just last month, Biden faced backlash after making an ill-timed joke during a visit to the Maui wildfires site. “You guys catch the boots out here? That’s a hot ground, man,” Biden said.

At the time, residents in Maui had already criticized Biden for taking a lavish 9-day vacation in Lake Tahoe, at the mansion of a wealthy leftist billionaire donor, while the wildfires raged.

Whistleblower Exposed 2020 Election Fraud by Revealing Facebook Group

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The anonymous whistleblower confirmed the 2020 election voter fraud in the state of Michigan by sharing the screenshots of the Facebook group that revealed that clerks knew about what was going on, without informing the authorities.

Clerks across the state received boxes of suspicious voter registrations, many of them with the same signatures, the same last four numbers of their social security number, fake names and fake addresses, the Gateway Pundit reported.

Additionally, the whistleblower said that the clerks were privately concerned about potential voter fraud in the 2020 election months before November, while later telling everybody that was the “most secure” election in the history of this country.

One retired Michigan clerk posted an image of what her fellow clerks called a “care package” from a left-wing campaign and organizing group that went either by the name GBI Strategies or “Empower Michigan.”

Clerks, who were on a first-name basis with the organization, reported that they received these “care packages.” They also referenced “EM” interchangeably with the organization, with “EM” being short for “Empower Michigan.” That was a Democrat group working alongside GBI, which “coincidentally” shared the same address as the Michigan Democrat Party.

Another person who is currently working as a clerk in the state added that she also received similar likely fraudulent voter registration applications from the same address as GBI was using.

Muskegon City Clerk Ann Meisch knew the answer in the post’s comments because she was on a first-name basis with the corrupt organization. Meisch was the clerk who informed police after she received over 10,000 suspicious and fraudulent voter registrations sent to her Muskegon office from GBI Strategies.

The same box, with the same PPE materials within, was sent to clerks all over Michigan and, as it was later revealed, none of them informed the state’s law enforcement about Democrats stealing the election.

“Why are we getting all of these voter registrations from Auburn Hills? We received two stacks today,” another clerk asked her colleagues.

Half of Vaxxed People May Never Stop Producing Spike Protein

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Italian scientists recently published a study that showed that there is the presence of spike protein in people who got the COVID-19 vaccine — six months after vaccination.

To test their hypothesis, the study’s authors used mass-spectrometry, a sensitive test that can detect a specific amino-acid sequence that exists only in the vaccine-induced spike protein, the Daily Sceptic reported.

“Experimental design: Mass spectrometry examination of biological samples was used to detect the presence of specific fragments of recombinant Spike protein in subjects who received mRNA-based vaccines.”

To make sure that their finding is not spurious, the scientists included a control group of people who never took the jab.

“The study group… was 40 subjects: 20 were vaccinated with the full cycle of mRNA vaccine as of April 2022, and 20 were unvaccinated with negativity for COVID-19 to nasopharyngeal test and with no titer of any antibodies. Other 20 unvaccinated persons were added that were positive for COVID-19,” the study said.

After looking at the three groups, the scientists discovered that only the people in the vaccinated subgroup were found to carry vaccine-derived spike protein. On top of that, vaccine spike protein was found as late as six months after the last dose.

The scientists never mentioned in the study that spike protein production ends after 187 days – the upper limit on time after vaccination was an artifact of the study design.

Additionally, the news source raised the question of whether the COVID-19 vaccine would become a part of human DNA after noticing that the study said that it is “possible that the mRNA may be integrated or re-transcribed in some cells.”

The so-called reverse transcription, that is, vaccine mRNA becoming part of the human DNA genome in some affected cells, was demonstrated in in-vitro experiments. That means that it is possible that the spike protein production in people who got the coronavirus vaccine would never end.

Jimmy Buffett Dead at 76 Years Old

(Headline USA) Jimmy Buffett celebrated slackers before the word existed, even though he was hardly one himself.

“Wastin’ away again in Margaritaville,” went the chorus to his most famous song, which became an international singalong. But Buffett was actually an astute, ambitious, aggressive businessman.

A statement posted to Buffett’s official website and social media pages announced his passing on Friday at age 76. The statement did not say where Buffett died or give a cause. He rescheduled concerts in May and acknowledged he had been hospitalized for an unspecified illness.

Buffett built an empire based largely on Caribbean-flavored pop that celebrated the Florida Keys, sunshine and nightlife. His name became synonymous with a laid-back subtropical party vibe, and his fans were known as Parrotheads.

But behind the laid-back exterior, Buffett was an admitted workaholic. He expanded into novels, nightclubs and many other ventures. At one time his estimated annual income was more than $40 million, and his revenue sources extended far beyond a musician’s typical business model of album sales, concert tickets and souvenir T-shirts.

He landed at No. 13 in Forbes’ America’s Richest Celebrities in 2016 with a net worth of $550 million.

The title of Buffett’s most popular song showed up on restaurants, clothing, booze and casinos. He became involved in such products as Landshark Lager, the Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant chains, boat shoes, salsa, hummus, tortillas, dips, tequila and blenders. The Margaritaville cafe on the Las Vegas strip was said to be the top grossing restaurant in the nation.

Buffett was chairman of Margaritaville Holdings based in Palm Beach, Florida. He had a restaurant and a casino in Vegas, a casino in Mississippi and a hotel in Pensacola Beach, Florida, but the exact scope of his empire was a secret. Margaritaville Holdings LLC didn’t disclose its finances, and he usually declined interview requests.

Along with hit songs, Buffett wrote best-selling novels. In 2008 he was ranked by Vanity Fair as No. 97 on a list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and his fan base was broad and loyal. Even when he was in his 60s, his concert tickets fetched more than $100.

“I’m not about to apologize for being a good businessman,” Buffett told The Washington Post in 1998. “Too many people in music have ruined their lives because they weren’t. I’m not a great singer, and I’m only a so-so guitar player. I started running the band years ago because nobody else could, and I turned out to be good at this stuff. There’s never been any grand plan to this thing. I’m making it up as I go along. … Just trying to work the system while maintaining my ’60s anarchic soul.”

Buffett could be more intense than his songs and stage persona suggested. He was injured in 2011 when he fell face-first off the stage while performing in Australia and struck his head, knocking him unconscious. He was released from the hospital the next day.

An avid Miami Heat basketball fan, Buffett caused friction at a 2001 game when he cursed at referee Joe Forte from his courtside seat. Forte ejected him. The Heat moved Buffett and his son to another section.

When then-Heat coach Pat Riley asked Forte if he knew the man he had ejected, Forte didn’t recognize the name. He asked if Forte had ever been a Parrothead. “He thought I was insulting him. He wanted to give me a technical,” Riley said.

Buffett was born on Christmas Day, 1946, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He once said he arrived in the Keys driving a 1946 Packard in about 1970. He found his musical niche during that decade with breezy, island-influenced party tunes. The tone was set with a popular song in 1973, “Why Don’t We Get Drunk?”

He became a pop star in 1977, when “Margaritaville” cracked the Top 10. The song has provided a soundtrack to countless happy hours in the decades since.

Buffett’s 1992 collection titled “Boats, Beaches, Bars, and Ballads” became one of the best-selling box sets ever and his annual summer concert tours with his Coral Reefer Band became major events, drawing thousands of Parrotheads who would dress up in Hawaiian shirts, leis, funny hats and other mellow party accessories. Some would follow Buffet’s tour from city to city.

“We were the social network before there was a social network on the Internet,” Buffett told the Dallas Morning News in 2012. “They had something in common; they shared things. They started dressing up because they were listening to the music. It was the common bond.”

Business success soon eclipsed record sales. According to Buffett’s website, the first Margaritaville opened in Key West, Florida, in 1987. The chain grew to 16 outlets and Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc., teamed up with Buffett to develop the $700 million Margaritaville Casino & Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi, near where he was raised.

Regardless of his commercial achievements, Buffett’s legacy will be, in his words, “helping people forget their troubles for a couple of hours.”

The singer told the Baltimore Sun in 1999 that his optimistic view of life brought fans to the humor and escapism in his work. And that was okay, because there already was enough serious material in the world.

“I was the life of the party,” Buffett said.
